Augmented reality is no longer only part of sci-fi movies and video games. It has moved to the forefront as a key technology to train Soldiers for future battles. Augmented reality devices provide information before, during and after operations, enabling Soldiers to train throughout each phase of a mission. Invaluable feedback from training helps Soldiers prepare for real-world situations. Argie Sarantinos, DEVCOM Public Affairs, reports.

i-Provide’s heavy-duty window regulator features impressive performance, user-friendly installation and easily adjustable windowpane end positions. But one of its most striking characteristics is a highly compact footprint. That gives vehicle engineers the space they need to fit armor panels into the cramped interiors of doors.

To determine the operational effectiveness and suitability of the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular (ENVG-B) — the U.S. Army’s next generation of night vision system — and the Small Tactical Optical Rifle Mounted Micro-Laser Range Finder (STORM II), Soldiers conducted multiple jumps, despite a few setbacks with weather and COVID-19. On January 23, 2021, the Turkish defense industry has unveiled the latest version of its local-made 155mm self-propelled howitzer, the Firtina 2 based on tracked armored chassis. In May 2019, during the IDEF defense exhibition in Turkey,  the Turkish Ministry had already presented a modernized version of the Firtina 155mm howitzer.
