The operation resulted in the demolition of a confidential coastal radar system called Predel-E, valued at approximately $200 million. In addition to the radar system, an associated Leer-2 electronic warfare system, which protected the radar installation, was also destroyed. This event follows a series of seven Ukrainian strikes in Olenivka, Crimea, on August 23, 2023, which targeted valuable assets including an S-400 air defense missile system, a Podlet-K1 low-altitude surveillance radar compatible with the S-400, and a Bastion coastal missile system.

The elimination of the Predel-E radar system in Zaliznyi could introduce a gap in Russia's surveillance network, potentially enabling increased movement of Ukrainian assets near the border or into Crimea without immediate detection. This could also impair Russia's capacity to intercept Ukrainian aircraft due to diminished early warning capabilities. Russia may also become more susceptible to electronic countermeasures.

The destruction of the Podlet and Bastion systems in Olenivka could have multiple ramifications. It could compromise Russia's ability to enforce a naval blockade, as the Bastion P system can target both naval and ground assets. This might affect Russian supply routes and create opportunities for amphibious operations in key coastal regions. The Predel-E radar system, alternatively known as Pryedel-E or Limit-E, was developed by Concern Morinformsystem-Agat JSC in Russia. Mounted on a Kamaz 43118 6x6 chassis, this advanced mobile coastal radar system features over-the-horizon detection and stealth capabilities, aligning closely with coastal defense requirements.

The primary goal of the Predel-E radar system is to extend the detection range for surface and low-altitude airborne targets beyond the conventional radio horizon. According to available information, it has a maximum detection range of 400 kilometers and provides highly accurate target coordinates, with a precision range of 100 meters and a deviation of 0.5 degrees. Its 180-degree field of view allows for extensive scanning.

The system incorporates advanced electronics and stealth technologies, reducing its radar cross-section and lowering the risk of detection by enemy electronic warfare systems. It is designed to operate reliably under various atmospheric conditions. In terms of communication, Predel-E can exchange data with other stations through both wired and radio channels. Wired networks support data transmission up to 500 meters, while radio channels can cover up to 25 kilometers.

Predel-E operates in both active and passive radar modes, offering operational flexibility. It was initially introduced with limited features at the IMDS-2017 International Naval Show but was fully disclosed at the Army-2022 event in June 2022, highlighting its strategic importance. When integrated with the Bastion coastal anti-ship missile system, Predel-E's detection and tracking capabilities are enhanced, contributing to accurate targeting and engagement of naval assets.

The system can transition from transport to operational mode in less than 5 minutes and becomes fully functional within 20 minutes. It is mounted on a Kamaz 43118 6x6 chassis, which has various technical specifications including a range of horsepower, torque values, and fuel capacities. The vehicle has a maximum speed of 90 km/h, can handle gradients up to 31%, and has an average fuel consumption of 26 liters per 100 km at a speed of 60 km/h. With a 350-liter fuel tank, its maximum range is 1,100 km.
