WDS exhibitors from every part of the supply chain – from primes to start-ups and innovators to investors – will be given new ways to connect, collaborate and create a more inclusive industry.

Leveraging technology

The defense and security world is focused on keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology and determining how best to leverage it. AI, robotics, autonomous systems, machine learning, hybrid technologies, sustainability, the internet of military things, blockchain – all form the next generation of defense capabilities and through daily forums, demonstrations and discussions WDS2024 will examine their potential strategic roles and how to integrate them.

WDS exhibitors, from R&D and start-ups to global leaders, will showcase cutting-edge products and capabilities throughout the show. Today’s innovators will take center stage teaching a waiting audience about emerging technologies across all domains.

New features

The Future of Defense theme will introduce new show features, including the Space Arena. The evolution of this increasingly important domain and rapid advances in space expertise create the need for collaboration between global government agencies in the deployment of intelligent technology. It will highlight the Kingdom’s ambitions to deliver polices, develops technologies and implements a national space strategy for the sector.

The Future of Defense Hub will incorporate the R&D Hub, the Innovation Hub and the Auditorium, which will host presentations, panel discussions and funding pitch sessions, linking innovators to investors. While the Journey to the Future will take visitors on an exciting
interactive exploration of never-before-seen technology. A series of dynamic live displays both on land and in the air will demonstrate the capabilities of the cutting-edge equipment on show.

Andrew Pearcey, CEO WDS said: “The successful inaugural event in 2022 delivered a forward-thinking and dynamic show that focused on interoperable defense, looking at changing the way global leaders and decision-makers approach defense capabilities.

“We have high ambitions for the event in February 2024 as we showcase the Future of Defense. The military, security and defense industries have always been on the cutting edge of technological development and WDS looks to shine a light on the products and innovators that will accelerate that progress.

“There is no better place to experience the vision for the future of defense than in Riyadh, where defense industrialization is fundamental to an ambitious national vision, and three continents strategically intersect at the center of the world’s supply chains. We look forward to welcoming representatives from every part of the industry to discover the future of defense with us.”

World Defense Show 2024 will be bigger, better and with broader in scope

With less than a year until its second edition, Word Defense Show (WDS) has revealed that WDS 2024 will be bigger in size, wider in scope and more comprehensive in its global reach.
Under the banner ‘Equipped for Tomorrow’, the show, being held 4-8 February at the custom-built venue outside of Riyadh, will run over an increased five days and will introduce a new theme, new participants, and new and enhanced features. The future-focused event will showcase the latest products and capabilities and focus on the emerging technologies and innovations that are shaping the military, security and defense industries.

Expanded facilities

Following the success of the inaugural show in 2022, which witnessed deals and announcements made worth US$7.9 billion over four days, WDS 2024 is set to provide even greater opportunities for investment, partnership and business. Such is the demand for participation and the exhibition floorspace that the venue has been expanded with the addition of a new hall. But availability is limited, as even this expanded space has been selling rapidly.
Andrew Pearcey, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Due to demand, the show will be bigger in size and wider in scope, offering new opportunities to participants from across the global defense industry. We have experienced huge demand, and despite an increase in the footprint of the show, our team has already received commitments for 70 percent of the floor space.”

Bookings so far for WDS 2024 have seen new country pavilions and expanded space from leading global military, security and defense industry players including Austria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, South Korea and Spain. A huge surge in interest from Turkish companies has made Turkey on our largest country pavilions. WDS is set to host 45 representing countries as exhibitors during the next edition.

Priority rates during IDEX 2023 exhibition

Despite the exceptional sales, the WDS team welcomes potential exhibitors to visit their stand during IDEX to register their interest and take advantage of the special priority rate.

Pearcey said: “We will be available in force at IDEX to speak to companies across the supply chain to help them finalise their requirements for the coming event. Our expanded space is filling fast and we are expecting another surge in sales over the coming week as the priority rate comes to a close. We will be delighted to offer insights into the show’s unique features, specialist hubs and targeted programs and discuss a host of participating options.”
