The Slovenian
Armed Forces comprise members of the active and reserve
components. It’s a unified armed forces without
being divided into services. The General Staff with
the Ministry of Defence are the highest authorities
for the command of Slovenian Armed Forces. The total
active military personnel are around 7,600 soldiers,
and a reserve force with 1,700 military personnel.
There is also a paramilitary force with 4,500 police
officer. The Land Forces of Slovenian army are around
6,000 soldiers with the structure:
- 1St brigade with 3 motorised battalions and 1 logistic
battalion
- 72nd brigade with 1 mountain battalion, 1 armoured
battalion, 1 artillery battalion, 1 engineer battalion,
1 NBC battalion.
- 1 support command with 1 logistic battalion
- 1 reconnaissance battalion, 1 signal battalion,
1 military police battalion, 1 Special Operations
unit.
