There are seven joint regional unified operational commands. The commands have operational authority over all land, naval and air forces in theire respectives areas. The national capital region is responsible for defending the central government against military coups. The toral active manpower is around 110,000 personnel, including some 65,000 regulars. There is also a paramilitary forces with 112,500 personnel.
The land forces is around 67,500 soldiers and 30,000 reserves with the structure:
- 9 infantry division, 1 light armour division, 5 engineer brigades, 1 contsruction battalion, 1 Intelligence and security group, 1 civil affairs group,1 aviation battalion,1 fiels artillery brigade,5 service support units.
