Most of wheeled and tracked vehicles of Russian Northern Fleet switched to winter operation


About 60 percent of the wheeled and tracked military and special equipment of the Russian Northern Fleet formations and units are prepared for work in winter conditions. In total, a little less than 9,000 vehicles and combat vehicles will be transferred to winter operation.

Preparation of equipment for winter takes place in several stages, during which the calculation of fuel and lubricants, as well as other material resources regarding the amount of military equipment, development of organizational documents, organization of material and technical support, preparation of parks and parks for the transfer of equipment and work in winter conditions, holding training camps and demonstration classes with military personnel, performing translation work, as well as summing up the results of the translation. Servicemen check the performance of all systems, assemblies, assemblies and equipment, inspect engines and fuel tanks, replace oils and special fluids.

In connection with the transfer of equipment to the winter operation mode, maintenance and repair points were deployed, groups were formed to carry out complex and special work. Particular attention is paid to the unconditional observance of fire protection and safety measures during parking work.

The final stage of the transfer of weapons and military equipment to the winter operation mode will be the quality control of the work performed. For these purposes, special commissions have been formed in military units, the main task of which is to check the reliability of the operation of military equipment and weapons in low temperatures.

The transfer of all military equipment to the winter operation mode will be completed by mid-November.
