Equipped with an integrated radar tracker and electro-optical sensor unit, the Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 HLP can receive and process target data from various sources such as 3D or 20 search radars and higher order control systems. The tracking radar's automatic search pattern simplifies and accelerates target handover, ensuring a fast and reliable engagement process. The gun control computer manages target tracking and engagement, while the electro-optical sensor unit enables visual target identification.

Engagement supervision can be carried out either by a higher order command and control center or through the remote gun console, capable of handling up to 8 guns simultaneously. The integrated 35 mm Oerlikon Revolver Cannon™ delivers exceptional firepower and accuracy. When coupled with the Oerlikon Ahead air burst ammunition, the gun achieves a high level of effectiveness against a range of air threats, including low, slow, and small (LSS) targets, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), rockets, artillery and mortars (RAM), as well as missiles. The cannon and ammunition have undergone full qualification and are already in active service.

To ensure ease of transport and quick deployment in the field, the Revolver Gun Mk3 is mounted on a standard hook-liftable platform (HLP) following DIN 30722 standards. This platform allows for rapid mobilization, making it an ideal solution for air defense missions that require swift responses.

The main features of the Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 HLP include its remote-controlled operation, effective combat range of up to 4,000 meters, and its capability to counter rockets, artillery, and mortars (C-RAM). The 35 mm Oerlikon Revolver Cannon offers a nominal rate of fire of 1,000 rounds per minute, while its rapid single shot mode reaches 200 rounds per minute. The integration of Ahead airburst ammunition enhances its combat capabilities, and the gun is equipped with 252 ready-to-fire rounds. Additionally, it features a remote charge and discharge function.

The tracking radar can operate in either X-band or Ku-band, providing flexibility in target tracking. The system also incorporates a modular electro-optical sensor unit for enhanced target identification. It facilitates target handover from 20/30 search radars and ensures automatic target tracking and handover processes. For seamless communication, a fiber optic or radio link, as an option, connects the gun to the control node.

The Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 HLP offers rapid deployment thanks to its hook-liftable platform, allowing for easy handling and maintenance. The system includes an integrated position locator and a north direction finder, eliminating the need for field alignment. It operates on an autonomous power supply, reducing dependency on external sources.

As an optional feature, the Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 HLP can be equipped with an integrated AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) search radar, further enhancing its surveillance capabilities.
