Leveraging robust international NATO collaboration and steadfast bilateral defense partnerships, the Lithuanian Defence Material Agency has entered into an agreement with the Dutch Procurement Agency COMMIT to procure Thales Ground Master 200 Multi-Mission Compact radars (GM200 MM/C).

Tailored to meet the demands of modern warfare, the GM200 MM/C offers simultaneous, precise detection, tracking, and classification of current and emerging threats, including drones. Its cutting-edge 4D AESA technology* provides radar operators with extended time-on-target, allowing them to gather comprehensive information about incoming threats. The system automatically identifies and categorizes aircraft, missiles, helicopters, multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and Rockets, Artillery, and Mortar (RAM), making it well-suited for weapon location and air defense operations.
Engineered with cybersecurity in mind, the GM200 MM/C also benefits from the latest software-defined radar technology, enabling future upgrades and expanded capabilities to adapt to evolving threats and doctrines. Furthermore, its compact design facilitates seamless transitions from fixed location to high mobility, ensuring rapid deployment and ease of transportation on various platforms. Lithuanian partner ELSIS will collaborate with Thales on the integration of the radar into vehicles.
Thales boasts extensive expertise in air surveillance and air defense, encompassing the entire spectrum from detection to neutralization. Its advanced technologies can address a wide array of threats, from countering drones to ballistic missile defense surface radars, airborne radars, command centers, communication systems, equipment, counter-battery solutions, and diverse effectors.
"The acquisition and deployment of the Thales GM200 MM/C Multi-Mission radars will significantly bolster the artillery capabilities of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. Moreover, this joint procurement opens up numerous opportunities for enhanced cooperation with NATO allies in the realms of acquisition and support," said Mr. Sigitas Dzekunskas, Director of the Defence Materiel Agency under the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania.
