The LPR 4x4 vehicles, localized versions of the Korean KIA KLTVs, are manufactured by Rosomak in their facility in Siemianowice Śląskie, Poland. The contract provides for the delivery of approximately 400 units, intended to replace older models such as the Polish "Honker" and other similar vehicles.

These light reconnaissance vehicles are designed to meet the needs of the Polish army for highly mobile and armored machines, capable of operating in diverse and challenging terrains. Each vehicle is equipped with a modernized body adapted to the specific requirements of the Polish army, as well as a central tire inflation system and run-flat capability, ensuring operational efficiency even after tire damage.

These vehicles are also equipped with a turret mounted on the roof that can accommodate weapons such as a 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine gun or a 40 mm grenade launcher. The initiative includes plans to gradually transfer the manufacturing of components to Poland, thereby strengthening local industrial capacity and supporting the country's economic growth.

The KIA KLTV is a vehicle designed to meet the demands of modern armed forces, combining mobility, protection, and versatility. It has a length of 4.9 m, a width of 2.195 m, and a height of 2.32 m. Its ground clearance of 410 mm allows for excellent mobility on difficult terrain, crucial for operations in conflict zones or rugged areas.

The KLTV is also equipped for transport, with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 5,700 kg. It is powered by a powerful 225 hp engine at 3,200 rpm, with 51 kg-m of torque at 1,750 rpm. Its top speed of 130 km/h is sufficient for fast and efficient maneuvers on the battlefield or when moving between strategic sites.

In addition, this contract is part of a wider defense upgrade project that includes the acquisition of heavy infantry fighting vehicles and a new wheeled armored carrier, reflecting Poland's strategic objective of strengthening its self-sufficiency in defense technologies and infrastructure. These steps are in line with Poland's ongoing efforts to strengthen its defense posture in light of regional security dynamics and its commitments as a NATO member.

This development marks a pivotal step forward in Poland's military modernization, aimed at equipping the armed forces with up-to-date and versatile military vehicles that enhance operational readiness and tactical flexibility.
