The four Typhoon 4x4 armored vehicles, which cost approximately US$3 million, are expected to substantially enhance the operational capabilities of CODI in its ongoing efforts to combat organized crime within the country. These vehicles will provide increased protection and mobility to CODI forces, allowing them to better carry out their mission.

"This is historic because the Armed Forces do not have this type of vehicle, and it has been more than 40 years since an investment was made," said a spokesperson for the Paraguayan government. The Streit Group Typhoon is an armored personnel carrier (APC) designed to offer high levels of protection and mobility for military, law enforcement, and internal security forces. The vehicle is built on a 4x4 chassis, which provides excellent off-road capability and maneuverability. Its V-shaped hull design offers enhanced protection against mine and improvised explosive device (IED) blasts, while the vehicle's armor provides ballistic protection against small arms fire and shrapnel.

Depending on the configuration, the Typhoon APC can carry up to 12 personnel, including the driver, commander, and 10 fully-equipped soldiers. the vehicle is powered by a diesel engine, providing a top speed of around 100 km/h (62 mph) and a range of up to 800 km (497 miles). The APC can be equipped with a variety of weapon systems, including remote-controlled weapon stations, machine guns, and grenade launchers, depending on customer requirements.
