Deal between Georgia and France on Air Defense Management and Control System


Georgia’s Ministry of Defense of reached an important deal with the French side on the purchase of anti-aircraft management and control system, Thea Morrison reported on Georgia Today.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Defense of Georgia, Levan Izoria, and his French colleague Florence Parly. The Minister explained that the new contract will allow Georgia to integrate into the NATO’s united air defense management and control system in the future. “This deal will significantly enhance our country's defense capabilities in the air defense component, which is an important guarantee for the protection of our airspace and thus for the protection of our citizens," Izoria said.

Izoria and Florence Parly also signed an agreement regarding the logistical provision of the military contingent deployed in the EU mission in the Central African Republic.
