Israeli Iron Dome successfully intercepts rocked fire against Israel from Gaza Strip.
 
 
During IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) operations in Gaza Strip region on Thursday evening (Apr. 7), an Iron Dome battery successfully intercepted a rocket fired from Gaza towards Israel.

Immediately afterwards, IAF aircraft targeted a rocket-launching terrorist cell. A hit was identified.

The Iron Dome system was designed as a response to the threats Israel faces from short-range rockets and mortar shells. The system has the capability to identify and destroy such projectiles before they land in Israeli territory. The Iron Dome anti-rocket system, operated by aerial defense network soldiers, is currently undergoing an operational trial in southern Israel.

Armored Corps forces also fired at the northern region of the Gaza Strip from where an anti-tank missile had been fired at a school bus near kibbutz Sa'ad on Thursday.

The IDF will continue to carry out all steps necessary in order to protect the residents of southern Israel.
