The Didgori 2 is a 4x4 armored personnel carrier vehicle designed and manufactured in Georgia by the "Delta" research center of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia. It was developed in 2009 based on the Didgori 1 using the same internal features with some additional components. Due to the use of light armour materials and despite the high level of protection, the Didgori 2 can be easily transported by military transport aircraft as the C-130 or other types of transport aircrafts. The Didgori 2 was unveiled for the first time to the public during a military parade in Tbilisi, May 2011. Currently, the Didgori 2 is only in service with the Georgian Armed Forces.

Armament
The Didgori 2 can be fitted with a large range of weapon systems. The standard version is fitted with an open top turret armed with one 12.7 mm machine gun. The turret can be equipped with other weapons as 7.62mm 6 barreled Minigun or one 40mm automatic grenade launcher. The Didgori can be also equipped with a remotely controlled weapon station armed with a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun.
Design and protection
The Didgori 2 has an all-welded monocoque steel V-shaped hull which offer protection against both 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm small arms fire as well as mines. The body of the vehicle is especially designed to have optimal angles to ensure maximum effectiveness against kinetic and mine blast threats. The floor armor is made with the “sandwich” multilayer system. It has three layers, the middle layer provides the possibility to keep off the blast wave in case of mine explosion while the other two layers protect the crew from fragmentation. The power pack is at the front, with the driver being seated at the front left and the vehicle commander to his right. The Didgori 2 can carry a total of 7 military personnel including driver and commander. To the front and side of the commander and driver are bulletproof windows. In either side of the hull is a forward-opening door. A large door is provided in the rear of the hull which opens to the right and is provided with a bulletproof window and firing port in the upper part. In either side of the rear troop compartment are two bulletproof vision blocks with one firing port below, which allow some of the troops to fire their weapons from within the vehicle.
Mobility
The Didgori 2 is based on a Ford F550 super heavy duty 4x4 truck chassis, all the mechanical components of Didgori 2 are time proven and easy accessible worldwide. The vehicle is motorized with a FORD turbo charged V8 Diesel engine developing 356hp., coupled to an automatic transmission with 6 forward and 1 reverse speeds. The engine and vital components are fully protected against threats without sacrificing cooling efficiency and reliability of the vehicle. The Didgori 2 can run at a maximum road speed of 120 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 500 km. The vehicles can negotiate gradients up to 60%, side slope of 40%, fording depth of 1 m without preparation.
Accessories
The Didgori 2 is equipped with run flat tire system in standard configuration allowing the vehicle to cover a range of 50 km at 50 km/h with damaged wheel. The Didgori 2 is equipped with thermal cameras for the crew members. A rear view camera is mounted at the top rear of the crew compartment. The vehicle is also equipped with a night vision device with a full rotation of 360º and an optical zoom x36. In option, the vehicle can be fitted with anti-blast mine seats to reduce the effect of mine explosion.
