The Patria 6x6 is a Finnish wheeled armored vehicle developed by Patria to provide protected troop transport and a common vehicle family for multiple combat-support missions. Publicly unveiled in 2018 as the successor to the Pasi, it combines the simpler troop-transport philosophy of the earlier Finnish 6x6 family with components and engineering experience derived from the heavier Patria AMV. Since 2020, its development has increasingly been driven by the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program, which has transformed the vehicle from a Finnish 6x6 APC into a European procurement, production, and standardization program.

Description
The Patria 6x6 is a three-axle armored personnel carrier and multi-role combat-support vehicle designed and manufactured by the Finnish defense group Patria. It was conceived primarily as a protected troop carrier rather than a wheeled infantry fighting vehicle, with the baseline arrangement accommodating a driver and commander plus up to ten soldiers in the rear compartment, but the same hull can be reconfigured for command, medical, reconnaissance, engineer, communications, electronic warfare and mortar roles. The vehicle measures 7.5 m long, 2.9 m wide and 2.5 m high, with a basic mass of 15.5 to 16 tonnes, a maximum payload capacity of 8,500 kg and a maximum permissible weight reaching 24 tonnes with hydropneumatic suspension. Its architecture is positioned below the Patria AMV/AMV XP 8x8 in complexity, weight, and cost, while retaining an independent suspension, a permanent 6x6 drive, a modular protection, and sufficient structural reserve for heavier mission equipment. Patria designed the vehicle around a service life exceeding 30 years, with maintainability, repair, upgrades, and large-fleet affordability incorporated from the beginning rather than added after production started.
Development originated in the requirement for a modern successor to the XA/Pasi series, which Patria had produced since the 1980s. Preliminary design work had begun years earlier, but the final concept and production-oriented configuration were developed principally during 2016-2017, retaining the Pasi philosophy of relatively straightforward operation, good crew visibility, and adaptability while incorporating newer automotive and protection technology. The chassis shares components with the Patria AMV family but uses three rather than four axles and a substantially different internal arrangement optimized for transport rather than the AMV's heavier combat-vehicle role. Patria publicly unveiled the new 6x6 at Eurosatory on June 11, 2018, presenting it as both a successor to Pasi and a lower-cost complement to existing AMV fleets. At the time, Patria stated that its price could be roughly half that of an AMV depending on customer-selected equipment, an important indication of the intended market position rather than a fixed unit price. A NEMO 120mm mortar-equipped variant followed at DSEI 2019, demonstrating from an early stage that the 6x6 vehicle was intended to support substantially more than troop transport.
The decisive transition from a simple company vehicle project to a multinational program came with the creation of the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program, initially centered on Finland and Latvia. The Patria 6x6 was selected as the common vehicle, with product development advancing in 2020. The CAVS program is structured to distribute development expenditure, improve interoperability, common automotive and logistical architecture across participants, while allowing each country to retain nationally selected weapons, communications, and mission equipment. Latvia moved first into large-scale procurement, ordering more than 200 vehicles in August 2021, while Finland initially ordered three pre-series vehicles for testing before committing to serial procurement. Sweden and Germany subsequently joined, followed by Denmark, while Norway and the United Kingdom entered the CAVS in 2025, bringing participation to seven countries by September 2, 2026. The CAVS consequently does not create one completely identical multinational Patria 6x6 configuration: it creates a common chassis, driveline, hull, and support base from which nationally configured APC, C2, medical, engineer, reconnaissance, and fire-support vehicles can be produced.
Industrialization has expanded in parallel with procurement. Patria remains responsible for the vehicle's design and overall development, but the CAVS program increasingly uses technology transfer and national industrial participation rather than concentrating all production in Finland. Latvia established local manufacturing through Defence Partnership Latvia at Valmiera, where a production facility opened in May 2024 with capacity stated at up to 160 Patria 6x6 vehicles annually; the first locally manufactured vehicle was handed over in August 2024. Germany is establishing a national industrial arrangement for its much larger TPz NG requirement, while Patria and Babcock have established cooperation covering potential British manufacture if the United Kingdom proceeds to procurement. This distributed model also affects sustainment because participating countries can develop local assembly, maintenance, repair, and component-support capacity while retaining a high degree of mechanical commonality. By 2025, the scale of CAVS had reached nearly 2,000 vehicles when contractual options were included, showing that the program had moved beyond the relatively small production volumes normally associated with specialized European wheeled armored vehicles.
Consequently, a single Patria 6x6 unit price cannot be derived reliably from the national contracts because procurement packages combine different vehicle configurations, weapons, support, training, development work, infrastructure and local industrial participation. Finland's June 2023 agreement covered 91 vehicles for about €208 million and included an option for another 70, but the contract value cannot simply be divided by 91 and treated as the price of an unarmed APC. Sweden's later 94-vehicle procurement was valued at roughly SEK 1.5 billion, or about €140 million in the supplied material, while Germany's two contracts signed on December 18, 2025 exceeded €2 billion including options and covered a maximum of 876 vehicles in four configurations, with more than €1 billion associated with the firm component. Germany additionally allocated roughly €50 million to development associated with the NEMO mortar and mortar fire-control configurations, further illustrating how development costs can sit outside or alongside vehicle procurement. The most defensible cost assessment is therefore that the Patria 6x6 was explicitly designed to cost substantially less than the AMV 8x8, as the cost of a single Patria 6x6 armored vehicle, typically estimated between €1.49 million and €1.9 million, varies sharply depending on order, protection, weapon station, specialist equipment, support and national production requirements.
Operational service began with Latvia in October 2021, making it the first country to receive serial Patria 6x6 vehicles, followed by the progressive fielding of Finnish and Swedish fleets and later Danish and German deliveries. The most significant operational transition came in 2025, when Latvia supplied 42 Latvian-built Patria 6x6 vehicles to Ukraine, moving the APC from training, readiness, and peacetime European service into sustained combat conditions during the Russo-Ukrainian War. Ukrainian vehicles subsequently appeared with externally fitted anti-drone protective net structures, reflecting the requirement to adapt the original protection architecture to the widespread battlefield use of FPV and other attack drones. This combat employment is also relevant to future development, as additional drone protection competes with remote weapon stations, antennas, hatches, and sensors for roof area while also adding mass and potentially affecting visibility and weapon arcs. The Ukrainian fleet nevertheless remains Latvian-supplied and currently does not make Ukraine a CAVS member, an important distinction between countries operating the vehicle and states participating formally in its multinational development program.
As of September 2, 2026, established or contracted Patria 6x6 users comprise Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Ukraine and Norway, although their procurement status and fleet maturity differ considerably. Finland fields the vehicle as the XA-300; Latvia has a requirement exceeding 200 baseline vehicles plus 56 C2 vehicles; Sweden's Pansarterrängbil 300/Patgb 300 program has expanded to 435 vehicles; Denmark has ordered 129; and Germany's TPz NG contracts cover 349 firm vehicles plus options for another 527, creating a ceiling of 876. Norway has ordered 20 C2 vehicles with options for another 40, equipped with Kongsberg Protector RS4 remote weapon stations, while Ukraine operates the 42 vehicles transferred by Latvia. Lithuania represents the largest prospective expansion identified in the supplied material, with a plan for 936 vehicles across maneuver, command-post, medical, fire-support, engineer, communications, reconnaissance, and CBRN roles, while the United Kingdom has joined CAVS and established an industrial path with Patria and Babcock but had no firm vehicle order in the supplied material. Estonia is the principal unsuccessful early participant, having left the Finnish-Latvian initiative and selected Turkish vehicles instead.
Patria 6x6 variants:
- Patria 6x6 APC: Standard troop carrier configuration with a driver, commander, and up to ten dismounts, adaptable to protected manual weapon mounts or remote weapon stations, and forming the basis of the wider vehicle family.
- Patria 6x6 Heavy APC (HAPC): More heavily protected and armed development pursued by Finland to accommodate increased armor and a heavier weapon station while retaining a troop transport role.
- Patria 6x6 Company Command Vehicle: Command configuration replacing part of the troop accommodation with command personnel, radios, computers, displays, and workstations.
- Patria 6x6 C2 - Command and Control Vehicle: Protected mobile command configuration ordered by Latvia and Norway, with Latvia ordering 56 C2 vehicles and Norway 20 plus options for another 40; the Norwegian vehicles use Kongsberg Protector RS4 weapon stations.
- Patria 6x6 MEDEVAC/CASEVAC: Protected medical evacuation configuration replacing the normal infantry seating with medical equipment and casualty accommodation, with medical vehicles included in Swedish and Danish procurement and MedWear EVA 23S equipment demonstrated on the vehicle.
- Patria 6x6 NEMO: Heavy mortar configuration mounting Patria's remotely operated 120 mm NEMO turret, with a turret mass of about 1,800 kg, 360-degree traverse, direct and indirect fire, range up to 10 km depending on ammunition, MRSI capability of up to six rounds, and about 40 mortar rounds carried.
- Patria 6x6 Mortar C2/Fire-Control Vehicle: German TPz NG configuration providing the protected command, communications and fire-direction element for NEMO units, with initial vehicles expected in the third quarter of 2026 and overall mortar system qualification continuing through the end of 2027.

- Patria 6x6 Electronic Warfare Vehicle: Confirmed Danish mission configuration within its Patria 6x6 fleet, although the final jammer, receiver, antenna, and sensor suite is not defined.
- XA-300: Finnish national designation for the Patria 6x6 family, covering the country's serial troop-carrying fleet; Finland procured three pre-series vehicles followed by 161 serial vehicles.

Design
The Patria 6x6 uses a three-axle, six-wheel armored hull designed around a common automotive architecture that can be adapted from a troop-carrying APC to command, medical, reconnaissance, engineer, electronic-warfare and mortar configurations. The vehicle is 7.5 m long, 2.9 m wide and 2.5 m high in its basic configuration, although overall height increases with weapon stations, antennas and specialist equipment. Basic vehicle mass is identified as 15.5-16 tonnes, compared with a representative APC mass of about 19 tonnes and operational configurations reaching 20 to 21 tonnes. Maximum permissible mass depends on the running-gear configuration: 22 tonnes with coil-spring suspension and 24 tonnes with hydropneumatic suspension, while amphibious operation is limited to 21.5 tonnes. Maximum payload is 8,500 kg, but this figure is the total engineering margin available for occupants, armor, weapons, ammunition, and mission equipment rather than 8.5 tonnes of cargo capacity remaining on a fully equipped vehicle.
The hull follows a relatively conventional APC arrangement optimized for protected personnel transport and internal volume rather than the heavier IFV-type layout of an 8x8 vehicle. The driver occupies the forward section, with the commander also positioned toward the front, while the rear protected compartment accommodates up to ten dismounts, producing a maximum baseline complement of 12 personnel. The troop compartment must accommodate not only ten seats but personal weapons, ammunition, communications equipment, and stores sufficient to support the stated 72-hour mission requirement, so the nominal 2+10 capacity represents the baseline APC rather than a universal figure for every variant. C2 workstations, medical equipment, mortar ammunition, EW electronics or other mission systems replace some or all of this troop accommodation in specialist versions. The vehicle therefore retains its principal dimensions and automotive components across the family while changing internal seating, stowage, electronics and roof equipment according to role.
A central design characteristic of the Patria 6x6 is the deliberate reserve between basic vehicle mass and maximum permissible mass. Taking the 15.5-tonne basic vehicle and 24-tonne maximum gives the stated 8.5-tonne payload envelope, while a representative 19-tonne APC remains 5 tonnes below the structural maximum and a 21-tonne configuration remains 3 tonnes below it. These margins explain how the same chassis can accommodate substantially different equipment packages, but they cannot simply be interpreted as unused payload because increasing ballistic and mine protection, adding a weapon station, carrying ammunition, and fitting communications or mission systems all consume the same reserve. The difference is substantial at roof level: a Kongsberg Protector RS4 fitted with an M2 and 400 rounds weighs 295 kg, whereas the NEMO turret alone weighs about 1,800 kg, before its mortar ammunition and associated equipment are counted. Consequently, vehicle configuration is fundamentally a mass-allocation exercise between protection, firepower, personnel and mission equipment.
The suspension architecture supports this growth margin. The vehicle can use coil springs for a maximum permissible mass of 22 tonnes or a hydropneumatic suspension for the full 24-tonne envelope, allowing heavier configurations to redistribute axle loads as protection and roof-mounted systems increase mass. Independent suspension and permanent six-wheel drive are combined with large military tires, while a central tire-inflation system (CTIS) is available and run-flat capability has been selected by existing customers. Amphibious capability is optional rather than inherent to every production vehicle and imposes the lower 21.5-tonne maximum operating mass, creating a direct design trade-off between flotation requirements and the armor/mission-equipment mass that can be carried. The available information does not establish that every national CAVS configuration retains amphibious capability, so 21.5 tonnes should not be treated as the maximum mass of the entire Patria 6x6 family.
The design was also conceived around national customization rather than one frozen CAVS configuration. Finland's XA-300, Sweden's Patgb 300, Germany's TPz NG, Latvia's APC/C2 vehicles and Denmark's five-role family retain the common hull and automotive architecture but differ in weapons, radios, internal equipment and protection. Germany illustrates the extent of this adaptability because its initial TPz NG family includes engineer-group, reconnaissance-group, NEMO mortar and mortar fire-control vehicles, meaning the chassis can be reconfigured without creating a separate automotive fleet for each mission. Specialist configurations principally modify the roof structure, internal compartment, electrical demand, seating, stowage and mission equipment rather than requiring a completely different hull. No confirmed Block 2, Mk 2, or second-generation Patria 6x6 redesign is identified to date; development instead proceeds through incremental changes to power, suspension, protection, weapons, electronics, and mission modules.
From a growth perspective, the 24-tonne structural ceiling is particularly important for the Heavy APC and NEMO branches. The Heavy APC reallocates payload toward greater armor and heavier armament, while the NEMO configuration accepts a 1.8-tonne turret and roughly 40 rounds of 120 mm ammunition. A 295 kg armed RS4 consumes 3.5% of the 8.5-tonne maximum payload envelope, whereas the NEMO turret alone corresponds to 21.2%, making the NEMO turret about 6.1 times heavier even before mortar ammunition is considered. This does not mean that every NEMO vehicle necessarily weighs 24 tonnes, because the available information does not provide one definitive German NEMO combat mass. It demonstrates instead why the higher-mass hydropneumatic configuration exists and why the vehicle cannot simultaneously carry maximum armor, maximum troop capacity and every heavy mission system within the same finite weight envelope.

Equipment
The Patria 6x6 uses a 24 V electrical architecture with LED exterior lighting and supports nationally selected mission equipment. Confirmed or available vehicle equipment includes additional heating, run-flat tires, configuration-dependent NBC protection, and optional amphibious equipment, while a central tire-inflation system is available depending on customer configuration. A higher-capacity alternator can be installed on vehicles with greater electrical demand, particularly C2, communications and electronic warfare variants. An auxiliary power unit is not established as universal standard equipment.
The Kongsberg Protector RS4 remote weapon station has been selected or is being integrated on Finnish, Swedish, German and Norwegian Patria 6x6 configurations. It weighs 195 kg empty or 295 kg with an M2 12.7 mm machine gun and 400 rounds and measures 962 mm long, 890 mm wide and 830 mm high. The station provides unlimited 360° traverse, -20° to +60° elevation, maximum traverse of 90°/s and elevation movement of 70°/s. Its sensor package combines a VIS-95D Max daylight sight, Thales dual-field-of-view thermal imager and Batram G3 laser rangefinder for stabilized day/night observation, ranging and engagement.
Other confirmed national weapon station arrangements differ substantially. Latvia uses protected manually operated mounts accepting 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine guns, with an additional 7.62 mm hatch position on some configurations. Sweden uses Weapon Station 02, compatible with the KSP 58 7.62 mm, KSP 88 12.7 mm, or an automatic grenade launcher. Denmark uses an M18/SIMA protected ring mount with an M2 Browning 12.7 mm machine gun and smoke grenade launchers. The CAVS program therefore standardizes the vehicle to a greater degree than its weapon and sensor equipment.
Confirmed C2 configurations replace much of the rear troop compartment with radios, computers, displays, operator workstations, antennas, and power equipment. Latvia has ordered 56 C2 vehicles, while Norway ordered 20 C2 vehicles with options for another 40. Savox next-generation vehicle computers are identified for CAVS during 2027-2032, together with Savox wireless intercom equipment. Battle management systems and tactical radios remain nationally selected rather than standardized across all CAVS users.
Electronic warfare (EW) and medical variants are also confirmed requirements, but their equipment must be distinguished from demonstrated systems. Denmark has ordered an EW role within its 129-vehicle program, although its final jammer, receiver, and sensor suite is not identified. Sweden and Denmark include medical configurations equipped with casualty-handling, stretcher, medical-storage, and communications equipment. MedWear EVA 23S is specifically associated with the Patria 6x6, but the available information does not establish one universal medical fit or casualty capacity for every national ambulance configuration.
ARIS, ARIS-E and CATCHR were demonstrated on a Patria 6x6 C2 vehicle at DSEI UK 2025. ARIS intercepts, records, and analyzes radar emissions; ARIS-E adds emitter recognition, geolocation, and tracking; CATCHR provides ESM/ELINT surveillance functions. Their integration demonstrates that the vehicle can accommodate this electronic support equipment, but no serial CAVS order for this specific suite is established. In particular, Denmark's confirmed EW vehicle should not be assumed to use ARIS, ARIS-E, or CATCHR.
A dedicated counter-UAS configuration also remains demonstrated rather than operationally selected. At Eurosatory 2026, Patria showed a 6x6 combining Kongsberg equipment with C-UAS functions. Existing RS4-equipped vehicles could provide an integration basis, but a complete counter-drone configuration would require additional detection sensors, processing, electrical power, software, engagement equipment, and potentially specialized ammunition. No serial dedicated Patria 6x6 C-UAS or SHORAD order is identified as of September 2, 2026. Finally, hybrid propulsion is also only a potential development option.

Armament
The Patria 6x6 has no single standard weapon configuration, as CAVS countries select armament according to national requirements. Confirmed or selected weapons are centered primarily on 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, and the 120 mm NEMO mortar. Latvia uses protected weapon mounts accepting 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine guns, with an additional 7.62 mm hatch weapon on some vehicles. Sweden's Weapon Station 02 can carry the KSP 58 7.62 mm, KSP 88 12.7 mm or an automatic grenade launcher, while Denmark uses the M18/SIMA protected ring mount with an M2 Browning 12.7 mm machine gun and smoke grenade launchers.
The Kongsberg Protector RS4 has been selected for Finnish, Swedish, German, and Norwegian Patria 6x6 configurations. The station weighs 195 kg empty and 295 kg with an M2 12.7 mm machine gun and 400 rounds. Depending on national configuration, the RS4 supports machine guns and automatic grenade launchers and provides unlimited 360° traverse, -20° to +60° elevation, 90°/s maximum traverse and 70°/s elevation rates. Its sighting equipment includes a VIS-95D Max daylight sight, Thales dual-field-of-view thermal imager, and Batram G3 laser rangefinder.
The heaviest confirmed weapon integration is the Patria NEMO 120 mm smoothbore mortar, selected by Germany for its TPz NG heavy-mortar configuration. Its remotely operated turret weighs about 1,800 kg, traverses through 360°, and provides both direct and indirect fire. Maximum range is up to 10 km depending on ammunition, with multiple-round simultaneous-impact (MRSI) capability of up to six rounds. The Patria 6x6 configuration carries about 40 mortar rounds and has a two-person rear mortar crew. The turret alone represents 21.2% of the vehicle's 8,500 kg maximum payload, compared with 3.5% for an RS4 equipped with an M2 and 400 rounds.
The Patria 6x6 has also demonstrated heavier weapons that have not been established as standard serial CAVS armament. A Heavy APC shown with the Cockerill Light Weapon Station in 2021 demonstrated compatibility with 25 mm and 30×113 mm automatic cannons. The CLWS could also accommodate 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm machine guns, rockets, and anti-tank guided missiles. This configuration confirmed the vehicle's ability to accommodate cannon armament, but the Cockerill station was a demonstrator and is not confirmed for serial production.
The Protector RS4 is additionally compatible with a broader armament range including the M249 5.56 mm, M240 7.62 mm, M134 Minigun, Mk 19 and Mk 47 40 mm automatic grenade launchers, as well as other national weapons. FGM-148 Javelin and Spike anti-tank guided missiles are RS4-qualified, but no serial CAVS Patria 6x6 is equipped operationally with either missile. These weapons should therefore be classified as compatible options unless specifically selected by a Patria 6x6 customer.
A further potential configuration uses the Patria TREMOS, which accepts 81 mm or 120 mm smoothbore mortar tubes and requires three operators. The TREMOS can deploy within 60 seconds from patrol condition or 30 seconds from a known position and is designed for integration on 6x6-class vehicles, but no serial Patria 6x6/TREMOS customer is confirmed. It should therefore remain classified as potential armament rather than part of the current production weapon set.

Armor and Protection
Protection is modular rather than fixed at one level across the Patria 6x6 family. The baseline configuration is associated with STANAG 4569 Level 2 ballistic protection, while modular armor can increase protection to Level 4, with mine protection similarly identified across the M2a/M2b to M4a/M4b range depending on configuration. A vehicle configured to the upper protection level should therefore not automatically be assumed to retain the same payload, amphibious capability, or troop/equipment margin as the baseline APC.
The baseline armor standard is the STANAG 4569 Level 2, with optional protection reaching Level 4. Level 2 and Level 4 should be understood as different available protection configurations rather than simultaneous specifications for the same standard vehicle. The armor architecture is modular, allowing national customers to determine how much of the vehicle's weight reserve is assigned to ballistic protection according to mission requirements. This becomes particularly relevant for Heavy APC configurations, which deliberately allocate more of the available payload to protection and armament than the normal troop carrier.
Mine protection is scalable from STANAG 4569 M2a/M2b to M4a/M4b; the hull, protected crew compartment and seating arrangement form the basis of this blast-protection architecture, while higher mine-protection levels require additional protective mass. Because the Patria 6x6 can operate between a basic mass of 15.5-16 tonnes and a maximum permissible mass of 24 tonnes, customers can allocate part of this difference to increased underbody and occupant protection.
The vehicle can also incorporate run-flat tires and an optional central tire-inflation system, providing continued mobility or tire-pressure management following damage or when moving across different terrain. These features do not replace armor but contribute to survivability by reducing the likelihood that tire damage immediately immobilizes the vehicle. Run-flat tires have been selected by several existing customers, whereas CTIS is identified as optional rather than universal. The 6x6 driveline also distributes propulsion across three driven axles, providing a degree of mobility redundancy if one wheel is damaged, although the available information does not quantify post-damage mobility performance.
NBC protection equipment is available on a configuration-dependent basis, supporting operation in contaminated environments, but no universal CBRN filtration or overpressure system is fitted to every vehicle. This distinction becomes especially important for Lithuania's planned dedicated CBRN configuration, which would require additional detection, sampling, communications, and specialist crew equipment beyond the basic vehicle's NBC protection. The prospective Lithuanian CBRN vehicle remains a planned mission configuration, so its sensor package and exact protective arrangement cannot yet be specified.
National weapon installations can incorporate smoke grenade launchers, with the Danish M18/SIMA configuration specifically associated with smoke launchers. These provide a means of rapidly generating visual obscuration to reduce exposure to direct observation and aimed fire. Ukraine has introduced the most visible combat-driven modification to the Patria 6x6 by fitting some of its vehicles with external anti-drone protective structures. These structures are passive physical barriers intended to interfere with attacking drones and should be treated as field adaptations. Patria and Kongsberg also demonstrated a C-UAS-equipped Patria 6x6 at Eurosatory 2026, creating a development route from purely passive protection toward sensor-assisted drone detection and engagement.

Propulsion and Performance
The Patria 6x6 uses a Scania inline six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine: the original 2018 configuration produced 294 kW (400 hp) and 1,870 Nm, while the later/current powerpack reaches 325 kW (442 hp) and 1,910 Nm, increasing maximum power by 10.5%, and this power is transmitted through an automatic transmission to a permanent 6x6 driveline. The vehicle uses independent suspension, with two principal arrangements affecting maximum permissible mass. Coil-spring suspension supports up to 22 tonnes, while optional hydropneumatic suspension increases maximum mass to 24 tonnes, providing another 2 tonnes for heavier armor, weapons and mission equipment.
The Patria 6x6's maximum payload is 8,500 kg, but the power-to-weight ratio consequently varies considerably with configuration. With the current 325 kW engine, it reaches 21.0 kW/t (28.5 hp/t) at the 15.5-tonne basic mass, 17.1 kW/t (23.3 hp/t) at 19 tonnes, 15.5 kW/t (21.0 hp/t) at 21 tonnes, and 13.5 kW/t (18.4 hp/t) at the 24-tonne maximum. Maximum road speed is more than 100 km/h, with a road range of more than 700 km. The vehicle has 400 mm ground clearance, a turning radius below 9 m, 60% maximum gradient and 30% maximum side slope. Actual mobility, logically, varies with vehicle mass, terrain, tire pressure and national configuration. An optional central tire-inflation system (CTIS) permits tire pressure adjustment for different surfaces, while run-flat systems are available and have been selected by customers.
Amphibious capability is optional rather than standard; an amphibious Patria 6x6 is limited to a maximum mass of 21.5 tonnes, compared with the 24-tonne maximum for a hydropneumatic land configuration, reducing the maximum water speed to up to 8 km/h. Heavier 22-24-tonne configurations therefore cannot automatically be considered amphibious. The current propulsion architecture remains conventional diesel-mechanical. Hybrid propulsion is technically possible, but no production CAVS customer, serial hybrid vehicle, battery capacity, electric-motor output or electric-only range is established as of September 2, 2026. Likewise, an auxiliary power unit is not established as standard equipment, although higher-capacity electrical generation can support C2, EW, and other electronics-intensive configurations.

The Patria 6x6's 420 mm ground clearance allows it to pass over uneven terrain and obstacles, negotiate gradients of up to 60%, and side slopes of up to 30%, as well as crossing a 0.6 m vertical obstacle and a 1.2 m-wide trench.
