The design of the Tigon 8x8 armored vehicle is very similar to the Tigon 6x6 version that was unveiled during the DSA exhibition in Malaysia, in April 2018, with driver at the front with powerpack on its right, weapon station in the middle and troop’s compartment at the rear. The Tigon family is the successor to the Black Fox armored vehicle, which was developed by Doosan DST and which was purchased by the Indonesian army.

At DX Korea 2018, the scale model of the Tigon 8x8 was fitted with a CMI Defence turret armed with one 105mm cannon. The weight of the vehicle varies from 32 tons to 34 tons, depending on what kind of armament is installed on it. The Tigon 8x8 crew consists of two people, and the vehicle can carry up to nine troops in the rear compartment.

The Tigon 8x8 will be motorized with a 600 horsepower engine, coupled with an automatic transmission, offering the possibility to run at a maximum road speed of 100 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 800 km. The Tigon 8x8 features independent double wishbone suspension.
