Russia's Northern Fleet to receive advanced S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems
Russia’s Northern Fleet has received advanced S-400 Triumf (NATO reporting name: SA-21 Growler) air defense missile systems and other military hardware, including snow and swamp-going vehicles, in 2016, Fleet Commander Vice-Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov said on Friday.

"Russian Northern Fleet air defense units have been rearmed with S-400 surface-to-air missile systems," Yevmenov said.

"Arctic units continued receiving military hardware especially designed to operate in the conditions of the Extreme North. In particular, they received heated snow-going vehicles, new-generation two-section snow and swamp-going vehicles and quad bikes," he added.

According to the commander, the Northern Fleet received Bastion mobile coastal missile systems in early 2016. Also, unmanned aerial vehicles were delivered to the Northern Fleet’s 45th Air and Air Defense Army, he added.
