“The trials of the system are planned to be completed in the first quarter of 2022. Its serial deliveries will start after the relevant decision is taken by the State Commission, but we are ready to launch its serial production immediately,” the press office of Uralvagonzavod said.

The Derivatsiya-PVO is based on the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle and has a combat module with a 57mm automatic gun. The gun can fire airburst rounds against aerial targets. The SPAAG is designed to engage unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), cruise missiles, and air-launched weapons at close range. The system can also eliminate ground targets.

The Derivatsiya-PVO is also armed with a 7.62mm PKTM machinegun with an ammunition load of 500 cartridges to fight infantry units. The Derivatsiya-PVO has no radar as it is equipped with an optical-electronic guidance and reconnaissance system and a sophisticated fire control system, which reduces its signature. The system can use its TV/thermal-imaging system to detect targets in any conditions, being invisible for the enemy.

The 9T260 transporter-loader vehicle has been developed for the Derivatsiya-PVO SPAAG to transport several ammunition loads at a time and quickly reload the fighting vehicle in the field.
