IAG Unveils Pirin 4x4 APC During Live Mobility Demo at World Defense Show 2026.
International Armored Group (IAG) unveiled its Pirin 4x4 Armored Personnel Carrier during a live mobility demonstration at World Defense Show 2026. The debut positions the Canadian-based manufacturer in the growing global market for compact, blast-protected vehicles tailored for modern high-risk missions.
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, At the World Defense Show 2026 live mobility demonstration, International Armored Group (IAG) introduced its Pirin 4x4 Armored Personnel Carrier, presenting the platform as a compact yet heavily protected solution for troop transport in contested environments. Displayed in desert tan and maneuvering across uneven terrain, the vehicle highlighted its ballistic protection, modular mission adaptability, and reinforced suspension system, features the company says are designed to meet both military and law enforcement operational demands under sustained ballistic and blast threats.

The Pirin is powered by a 2.9L six-cylinder diesel engine producing 225 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. This powerpack is coupled to an automatic transmission and a 4x4 drivetrain, delivering continuous traction and torque distribution suited for off-road and mixed-terrain missions. The integration of an independent suspension system enhances cross-country mobility while maintaining vehicle stability under load, a key requirement for protected patrol and convoy escort operations. Electrical architecture includes both 12V and 24V systems, enabling the integration of military communication suites, weapon stations, and mission-specific electronic systems.
From a protection standpoint, the Pirin offers various armoring packages, including opaque and transparent armor solutions rated up to STANAG 4569 Level 2. This level of ballistic protection is designed to defeat small arms fire and fragmentation threats typically encountered in asymmetric warfare environments. In addition to ballistic resistance, the vehicle features blast protection engineered to counter improvised explosive devices and landmines, addressing underbody threats prevalent in contemporary conflict zones. Survivability is further reinforced by high-payload tires and wheels equipped with run-flat inserts and a Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS), ensuring sustained mobility following tire damage and allowing operators to adjust tire pressure according to terrain conditions.
The Pirin APC offers a maximum seating capacity of eight personnel, providing protected transport for infantry teams, rapid response units, or internal security forces. The internal configuration supports troop deployment during urban operations while maintaining the integrity of the armored enclosure. IAG highlights compatibility with off-the-shelf commercial parts to simplify logistics, facilitate maintenance, and reduce operational downtime, a strategic advantage for forces requiring rapid fleet sustainment in remote theaters.
Mission adaptability is central to Pirin’s concept of operations. Military equipment packages are available, including armored turrets and weapon mounts. Configurations may include a 360-degree rotatable turret with a gun mount, blackout lighting systems, and other tactical enhancements tailored for combat or law enforcement missions. This modular approach enables the platform to be configured for patrol, convoy security, border control, counterinsurgency, or high-threat VIP transport roles.
From Army Recognition’s assessment, the Pirin 4x4 APC reflects International Armored Group’s sustained commitment to developing new-generation protected mobility vehicles that directly respond to evolving battlefield threats and the operational needs of military and security forces. As modern conflicts increasingly combine ballistic threats, improvised explosive devices, and hybrid tactics, platforms such as the Pirin demonstrate how industry is focusing on scalable armor, drivetrain resilience, and mission modularity. IAG’s continued investment in combat-capable armored vehicles underscores its intent to remain competitive in a global market where survivability, adaptability, and logistical efficiency define operational relevance.
