Ukraine army to receive more armored ambulances



As reported by Militarnyi, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on September 1 announced in a video message that a large batch of armored "medevacs" will be delivered to the Ukrainian army. He did not specify with which state the supply was agreed, what type(s), what specific quantity and what terms are in question. Ukraine currently uses various armored medical vehicles.

Before the Russian invasion in February 2022, the research and production company VK Sistema handed over MT-LB-S medical vehicles to the Armed Forces. They rae designed for collecting and transporting the wounded from the battlefield and the center of mass sanitary losses, with the provision of first aid.

Another type of medical vehicle in service with the Ukrainian army is the BMM-4S which is based on the BTR-4 APC. The serial production is organized at the facilities of the SE Kharkiv Plant of Special Machines.

Ukraine's allies also handed over armored medical vehicles based on the Saxon AT105 and non-armored ones based on the Humvees.

In April 2023, volunteers bought ex-British army FV104 CVRT(T) Samaritan armored medical vehicles and offered them to the Ukrainian army.
