IndoDefence 2025: Sprint Tactical Electric Motorcycle from Indonesia Built for Stealth and Infiltration Operations.

At the IndoDefense 2025 exhibition held in Jakarta, the Indonesian state-owned defense holding DEFEND ID highlights one of its strategic subsidiaries, PT Len Industri, which presents for the first time its new tactical mobility platform: the electric motorcycle named “Sprint.” Designed and developed locally, the Sprint reflects Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its technological autonomy in the defense sector while supporting a broader strategy for reducing carbon emissions. The vehicle is notably showcased during the event’s dynamic demonstration, where its capabilities are presented in real-world operational conditions.

PT Len Industri is a state-owned enterprise specializing in defense electronics, secure communications, railway systems, energy, and integrated platforms. As a member of the DEFEND ID holding, alongside companies such as Pindad, Dahana, and PAL Indonesia, it contributes to the national ambition of technological sovereignty. The company focuses on developing innovative solutions tailored to the operational requirements of the Indonesian armed forces, integrating technologies that align with environmental standards and long-term national strategic objectives.

The Sprint model is a fully electric motorcycle designed to meet specific operational needs in modern military contexts. Its silent and emission-free configuration makes it particularly suitable for reconnaissance, infiltration, or patrol missions in sensitive environments, where acoustic and thermal discretion is essential. The absence of engine noise provides a tactical advantage in urban or forested settings, where conventional combustion-engine vehicles are more easily detected. The Sprint is also adapted to operate on rough terrain thanks to its durable construction and lightweight design, making it relevant for units deployed in remote or difficult-to-access areas.

In addition to its military use, PT Len Industri notes that the Sprint may be deployed in civilian contexts. Its low environmental impact makes it suitable for internal security forces, monitoring of protected areas, or light logistical operations in urban zones. This dual-use approach helps optimize investment and opens commercial opportunities beyond the defense sector. The vehicle is positioned within a broader national agenda promoting the electrification of transport, in line with Indonesia’s roadmap toward carbon neutrality by 2060.

The development of the Sprint relies on domestic expertise, which the company presents as evidence of the growing maturity of the Indonesian industrial base. Through this project, PT Len Industri expresses its intention to deliver autonomous, modular, and export-ready technological solutions. In the longer term, this motorcycle may attract interest from other countries in the region seeking lightweight, sustainable platforms that reduce logistical fuel dependency.

The spread of this type of electric tactical vehicle reflects a broader evolution in contemporary defense doctrines, which increasingly emphasize discreet mobility, energy resilience, and the reduction of operational signatures. As armed forces adapt to hybrid and urban environments, platforms such as the Sprint may play a growing role in reconnaissance, surveillance, or rapid intervention units.
