Philippines Army to acquire night vision equipment

The Department of Defense/Armed Forces of the Philippines to acquire 4,464 units of night fighting equipment for Philippines Army. The program has an alotted budget of Philippines Pesos 1,116,000,000 (€24 million) which will be sourced from the Capability Upgrade Program 2013 to 2017.

From several years, Philippines is in a process of modernising. In 2012, the revised AFP modernization act extended the modernization program for another 15 years with an initial budget of PHP 75 billion (€1,5 billion) for the first five years in order to continue modernizing all the branches of the AFP. In 2014, Philippines Army expected the delivery of Americain M113A2 and ordered M4 rifles, rocket launchers, hand grenades, ballistic vests, Soltam ATHOS towed artillery pieces. Philippines Army also planned to buy Surface-to-Air and Shore-to-Ship missiles.
