At IDEX 2017, the international exhibition and conference in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the Ukrainian State Company Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (KMDB) unveils a new version of its local-made BTR-4 8x8 armoured personnel carrier fitted new weapon systems.

The new version of the BTR-4 armoured vehicle will extends the family of 8×8 armourd personnel carrier which is in service with many countries all over the world including Indonesia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Company KMDB has developed and manufactured the prototype of BTR-4 which was unveiled at the Aviasvit 2006 exhibition held in Ukraine in June 2006. The new BTR-4 is fitted with a remote controlled weapon station BM2-30 armed with two 30 mm automatic cannons, one 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun and two anti-tank missile launchers. The layout of the BTR-4 is divided in three main compartment with driver and commander at the front, engine and transmission in the middle and troops compartment at the rear. The vehicle can carried a total of 10 military personnel including driver, commander and gunner. In standard configuration, BTR-4 is protected gainst firing of small arms 7.62mm and shell splinters. The vehicle can be fitted with additional armour to increase ballistic and anti-tank protection. The BTR-4 is fully amphibious and can cross water obstacles at a maximum speed of ten kilometres an hour. |
