Weighing 13 kg and launched by pneumatic catapult, the ORBITER 1KM can reach a stated altitude of 3,500 meters while operating across demanding temperature and wind conditions. Its compact deployment footprint, electric propulsion and long-range communications support rapid field use for reconnaissance and surveillance missions where mobility, persistence and reduced detectability are increasingly important.

On September 30, 2026, Azerbaijani defense company Azersilah showcased its ORBITER 1KM unmanned aerial vehicle at ADEX 2026 in Baku, presenting a compact, electrically powered platform developed for tactical surveillance and operational missions. The sixth Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition, held from September 30 to October 2 at the Baku Expo Center, brings together defense manufacturers, military delegations, and technology providers from Azerbaijan and abroad, reinforcing its role as a major regional platform for advanced military equipment and emerging defense technologies. The ORBITER 1KM is an electrically powered unmanned aerial vehicle built around a composite airframe and designed for tactical surveillance and operational missions. The aircraft is launched using a pneumatic catapult and relies on an electric propulsion system that, according to Azersilah, enables a low acoustic signature during flight. The manufacturer specifies an endurance of 2.5 hours and a radio-channel range of up to 100 km, providing the platform with the reach required to support tactical observation missions over an extended operating area.
With a total weight of 13 kg and a wingspan of 2.9 meters, the ORBITER 1KM has a stated cruising speed of 130 km/h and a maximum speed of 319 km/h. Azersilah lists a maximum flight altitude of 3,500 meters. These specifications combine a relatively lightweight airframe with substantial flight performance and communications reach, allowing the UAV to operate at significant distance from its launch position while remaining within its stated radio-control envelope.
The ORBITER 1KM is designed to operate across a temperature range from -20°C to +50°C, reflecting requirements for deployment under varying environmental conditions. According to the manufacturer's technical data, the UAV can conduct takeoff and landing in wind speeds of up to 12.8 m/s, while the maximum permissible wind speed at the end of the flight is stated at 20.5 m/s. Its combination of electric propulsion, composite construction and pneumatic-catapult launch also reduces dependence on a conventional runway for deployment.
