In the following days, officers and personnel from the Indian and Indonesian navies will engage in a series of activities. These will include professional dialogues, joint yoga sessions, sports competitions, and reciprocal ship tours, all designed to enhance mutual understanding and foster closer relations between the two maritime forces.
Once their operational turnaround is complete, INS Sahyadri and INS Kolkata will join the Indonesian Navy in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) at sea. This exercise aims to strengthen the interoperability that currently exists between the two naval forces.
INS Sahyadri
This ship has made numerous port visits to different countries including Australia, the United States, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines. These visits have not only given the crew exposure to different environments and operational procedures but have also facilitated the exchange of knowledge and skills with various international naval forces.
The INS Sahyadri has participated in significant maritime events such as the International Fleet Review and Exercise RIMPAC. These events serve as platforms for naval forces to collaborate and learn from each other, fostering a sense of global maritime unity.
Furthermore, she has been part of bilateral exercises such as INDRA 2015 with Russia, reflecting its role in promoting diplomatic ties and enhancing operational readiness through naval cooperation.
