Expodefensa 2025: Strategic Convergence for Defense and Security in Latin America.

In a region where evolving threats, shifting political contexts, and climate-related disruptions are reshaping national security priorities, Expodefensa 2025 emerges as a pivotal forum for the defense and security sector. Scheduled from December 1 to 3 in Bogotá, Colombia, the event is positioned as the central gathering point for industry professionals, government authorities, and institutional decision-makers across Latin America. Organized by COGES Events in partnership with CORFERIAS, CODALTEC, and held under the patronage of the Colombian Ministry of Defense, this 10th edition aims to facilitate structured dialogue, operational cooperation, and market development in a multidimensional security environment. Building on the foundation laid during its 2023 edition, which recorded 9,648 participants, 222 exhibitors from 29 countries, and 51 official delegations representing 27 nations, Expodefensa 2025 is expected to consolidate its role as the leading defense and security exhibition in the region. For three days, participants will engage across land, air, naval, cyber, and space domains, reflecting the strategic shift toward integrated and interoperable capabilities. Over 10,000 attendees are anticipated, with more than 230 companies showcasing their products and systems. The presence of over 50 delegations and 100 media representatives underscores the event’s institutional and international reach.

The conference program will feature over 15 sessions led by experts from across the globe. These will focus on pressing regional challenges and evolving technological and operational responses. Special attention in 2025 will be given to a set of thematic priorities: homeland security and defense; cybersecurity and sensitive data protection; management of strategic natural resources; civil protection and environmental defense; and resilience to hybrid threats and natural disasters. The event also aims to address the fight against organized crime, illegal trafficking, and transnational threats, which remain critical concerns in many Latin American countries.

Expodefensa positions itself not merely as a marketplace for technological solutions but as a structured space for governments, security forces, and private-sector stakeholders to explore operational synergies. Through exhibits, workshops, and official meetings, the event supports initiatives to enhance national sovereignty, reinforce strategic autonomy, and strengthen state capabilities in the face of increasingly complex threat environments.

With a regional defense and security market projected to grow by 1.5% annually through 2029, and cybersecurity spending expected to rise to $12.48 billion by 2027, Latin America is transforming its approach to security planning and resource allocation. Expodefensa 2025 aligns with this trajectory, offering stakeholders a platform to anticipate needs, develop policy responses, and shape future cooperation. Key issues such as civil security, crisis management, environmental resilience, and the dual-use potential of emerging technologies will be central to the discussions and solutions on display.

As the region faces heightened demands for preparedness, interoperability, and sustainable security models, Expodefensa 2025 offers a timely opportunity to examine solutions within an interconnected framework. It is conceived as a working space where technology, policy, and cooperation intersect, not to promote any single vision, but to facilitate pragmatic exchanges on issues that affect the stability and safety of populations and states alike.

Participants from government, defense, civil protection, and industry are invited to contribute actively to this process. Whether through formal meetings, exhibits, or collaborative sessions, Expodefensa 2025 provides a platform for aligning strategic objectives with actionable pathways. In a region where security concerns are shared yet diverse, this event offers an opportunity to address them collectively, with a view toward long-term regional resilience.
