TEKEVER Launches UK-Built AR6 Heavy Lift UAV for Long-Range Military Logistics and Support Missions.
TEKEVER unveiled the AR6 family of heavy-lift autonomous aerial systems at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, marking its entry into the logistics transport market. The move broadens the company's defense portfolio beyond ISR missions and strengthens the UK's sovereign unmanned aviation industrial base.
Developed and manufactured in the United Kingdom in partnership with British small and medium-sized enterprises, the AR6 is designed for military logistics, operational support, and civilian transport missions. TEKEVER plans to begin production before the end of 2026 at its Swindon manufacturing facility, positioning the new aircraft to address growing demand for autonomous heavy lift capabilities across defense and commercial sectors.

The AR6 is designed to carry a 200 kg payload over distances of up to 500 km. According to TEKEVER, this performance is achieved through a combination of propulsion and hydraulic technologies intended to exceed the capabilities of existing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) platforms, which typically transport payloads of up to 100 kg over distances ranging from one to five kilometres. The company also states that the system is designed to operate in both very hot and very cold environments while reducing maintenance and sustainment requirements.
The AR6 family is intended for both civilian and military users. In the civilian sector, TEKEVER identifies applications including logistics, offshore support, medical transport, search and rescue, and disaster relief. For military users, the company identifies missions such as forward logistics, casualty evacuation, and cooperation between crewed and uncrewed platforms. Among these is the UK’s Project Nyx, which seeks to integrate uncrewed systems with British Army AH-64E Apache attack helicopters.
TEKEVER states that the military version of the AR6 is capable of operating without reliance on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). The platform incorporates Mission Autonomy functions, including autonomous flight, swarm operations, crewed-uncrewed teaming, and features intended to improve survivability in contested environments. The company adds that these capabilities are based on its proprietary autonomy software architecture and on operational experience gained through the deployment of its systems in Ukraine.
The AR6 represents an expansion of the company's product offering, extending its focus from transporting information through ISR platforms to transporting payloads and introducing a new category of missions for its users.
The development of the AR6 forms part of TEKEVER’s expanding industrial activities in the United Kingdom. The company plans domestic production at its Swindon facility and presents the platform as a sovereign UK solution for autonomous heavy-lift systems. The announcement comes as TEKEVER continues its investment programme in the United Kingdom while broadening its activities beyond the ISR missions that have traditionally formed its core business.
The emergence of platforms capable of transporting substantial payloads over several hundred kilometres reflects evolving requirements identified by many armed forces, particularly in autonomous resupply, casualty evacuation and logistics support in contested environments. Several manufacturers are currently developing comparable systems to address these operational needs, illustrating a broader increase in the development of heavy-lift uncrewed aircraft for both defence and civilian applications. With the AR6, TEKEVER enters this emerging market segment by introducing a new platform for military and civilian users at a time when interest in autonomous heavy-lift capabilities continues to expand internationally.
