Armament
The KS-19 uses a single-barrel 100mm cannon. The KS-19 has a semiautomatic horizontal sliding wedge breechblock, a power rammer, an automatic fuze setter, and is fitted with a long multi-baffle muzzle brake. The Type KS-19 100mm has a semi-automatic horizontal sliding wedge breechblock, a power rammer, an automatic fuse setter, and is fitted with a long multi-baffle muzzle brake. In the firing position, the wheels are raised off the ground and the carriage is supported on four screw jacks, one at each end of the carriage and on either side on outriggers. The KS-19 100mm can fire a full range of ammunition as AP-T (Armor-Piercing Tracer), APC-T (Armor-Piercing Capped Tracer), HE (High-Explosive), HE-FRAG (High-Explosive FRAGmentation) and FRAG (FRAGmentation).
Design
The system consisted of several major components making up the overall weapon which included the barrel, gun mount, platform, and transport carriage. The KS-19 100 mm gun is mounted on a four-wheeled carriage with two-axle. When traveling, the mount is traversed to the rear and the 100-mm ordnance is held in position by a traveling lock at the rear of the carriage. An armor shield is mounted at the front of each side of the gun.
Mobility
The KS-19 100mm anti-aircraft gun is towed most of the time by a military truck or light tactical vehicle. In the Russian army, the KS-19 was also towed by the tracked artillery vehicle AT-S or AT-T. In the traveling position, the mount is traversed to the rear, and the 100-mm ordnance is held in position by a traveling lock at the rear of the carriage.
Operations
The KS-19 100mm anti-aircraft gun has an effective range of 13,700 m. The KS-19 has on-carriage fire-control equipment but is used normally with the PUAZO-6/19 director and the SON-9/SON-9A (NATO codename `Fire Can' and operated in the A/B-band) fire-control radar.
