Russian engineers will train to cross river with pontoon vehicles
Military engineers of the combined arms army of the Western Military District deployed in Voronezh region began training at a new range designated for pontoon river crossing, the district press service said.

PP-2005 pontoon bridge
     
"During the first training servicemen of pontoon units will assembly a 60-ton company pontoon to train crossing a 120-meter wide water obstacle by armored hardware. The unit is equipped with new-generation pontoon fleet which uses river engine complex to set up a line of pontoons without additional use of boats and other craft. A total of 18 pontoon vehicles PP-2005 and PP-2009 will be engaged in training,"

it said.
This summer field engineers of the combined arms army of the Western Military District will train for participation in the professional Open Water-2018 pontoon contest. The servicemen have to be ready to pass six stages of water crossing and set up a 300-meter wide river pontoon.
