French fighter aircraft and helicopters continued air operations of destroying military targets. These past 24 hours have been particularly marked by a dozen missions, half to perform strikes on Islamist rebels’ vehicles. On the ground, in coordination with the Malian forces, French troops extended their protective operations, preventing terrorist groups to continue their progression towards Bamako. The
African force continues its deployment with the regular arrival of new
contingents. Sunday, January 20, 2013, there are over 250 Nigerians, 100
Togolese and 50 soldiers of Benin who joined Bamako to form contingents
for the international mission in Mali (MISMA) supported by African leaderships.
Other troops are still arriving the next few days. |
