U.S. Marine Corps has selected Northrop Grumman electronic jamming backpack to counter IEDs
 
The U.S. Marine Corps has selected Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) to provide electronic jamming backpack systems to counter the threat of roadside improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Under the Counter Radio-controlled IED Electronic Warfare Marine Expeditionary Unit Special Operation Capable, or CREW MEU (SOC), contract, Northrop Grumman will deliver and support five initial production systems for testing.

The Russian army will get an upgraded version of the Pantsir-S air defense system and a new missile for it by the end of the year, said the Colonel Yuri Muravkin, deputy commander of the air defense troops. The new missile will increase the system’s range of fire from 20 to 30 kilometers.

United States to send 600 soldiers in Baltic region for bilateral military exercises with Poland
 

A company-sized element of the U.S. Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team -- about 150 soldiers -- will arrive in Poland tomorrow to begin a bilateral infantry exercise with Polish troops, the Pentagon press secretary said today. In the coming days, about 450 additional soldiers from the Vicenza, Italy-based 173rd ABCT will arrive for similar exercises in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said.

Lockheed Martin team's JLTV Joint Light Tactical Vehicle has achieved 100,000 testing miles
 

The Lockheed Martin Team’s [NYSE: LMT] Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) has achieved 100,000 miles in the government’s Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD) reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) testing. In August 2013, Lockheed Martin delivered 22 JLTVs to the U.S. Army and Marine Corps for EMD testing, which will continue through the fall.
