The
ZFB05A is an upgrade version of the basic version
of the ZBF05. This version is more protected than
the ZBF05, the two windows mounted to the front
of the crew compartment are replaced by hatchways.
The ZBF05A uses also a new 4x4 chassis. The ZBF05A
is an armoured vehicle personnel carrier designed,
developed and manufactured by the Chinese Company
Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles Manufacturing for
the requirements and situation of the domestic and
international tasks of military forces. The basic
version is used as personnel carrier, but according
to the practical requirements of the purchasers,
the ZFB05A can be transformed quickly into command
post vehicle, radio communication vehicle, reconnaissance
or ambulance vehicle.

The
primary weapon is a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine
gun mounted on the roof. Alternatively it
can be armed with a 23mm cannon or 35mm
automatic grenade launcher. The weapon station
is normally mounted on the forward part
of the roof and armament typically consists
of a 12.7 mm machine gun which is provided
with a shield to provide the gunner with
frontal protection. The gunner is provided
with a single-piece hatch cover that opens
to the rear.
Protection
The
ZFB05A has an all-steel armored hull,
which provides protection against small
arms fire and artillery shell splinters.
The vehicle body is the full closed down
structure. The isotope anti-bullet protecting
steel plates of the vehicle body have
been adopted and welded. The V-form anti-bullet
structure has been set up under the vehicle
bottom. Bullet proof windows
and associated firing ports are provided
so the crew can fire their weapons from
within the safety of the vehicle. The
vehicle has the very strong attacking
and protecting capabilities. Six sides
of the vehicle body can be anti-bullet-protected
so that they can be protected against
the shootings of the 7.62 mm steel core
bullets of 56-type (same with RussiaAK47),
81-type machine guns, 79-sharp-shooter
and the SS109 bullets of USA M 16, and
the crew in the vehicle can be protected
in all directions.
Propulsion
The
vehicle has adopted Model IVECO-NJ2046 military
4 x 4 cross-country chassis with Model SOFIM
8142.43 87kw turbo-charging inter-cooling
diesel motor while the bearing distance
is 2800mm,or with Model SOFlM 8142.45 98kw
turbo-charging inter-cooling diesel motor
while the bearing distance is 3310mm.
Accessories
Over
the rear troop compartment are two outward
opening oblong roof hatches. The ZBF05A
can be easily transported in a C-130 aeroplane
and up, or CH-47, MH-47 and CH-53 helicopters.
