The 6B11 armour vest is designed to protect a serviceman from cold steel weapons, fragments of grenades/mortar shells, and bullets fired from Makarov PMM and Tokarev TT pistols, as well as from pistols chambered for 9x19 Parabellum cartridges. The reinforced armour plates are made of aramid fabric. The materials of the vest feature moisture-repelling impregnation that allows using of the body armour in humid conditions and after full immersion into water.

The vest has an effective ventilation system. It is available in three standard sized and various colors. The outer vest of 6B11 is made of flameproof fabrics. At the customer`s request, the body armour can be complemented by the 6Sh92 universal vest intended for the transportation of armament, ammunition, and other pieces of individual equipment. According to the official specifications of the 6B11 armour vest in the catalogue of the Rosoboronexport company, it has a weight of 4.7-5.1 kg, a total protection area of 45-50 dm2, a chest/back reinforced protection area of 8.8/8.1-8.3 dm2 (respectively), and a pistol bullet stopping distance of 5 m.

Four variants of the kit (depending on the level of protection) are available to potential foreign customers.

The fabric module is identical for all variants. The kit includes a jacket with a protective collar and removable sleeves, apron and leg protectors, a climatic shock-absorbing liner, a load-bearing system, a mask and breastplate, gloves, and armour elements (optionally). It features a modular structure and enhanced anti-mine protection. According to the specifications, the Dublon individual sapper`s protection kit has a weight of 16.7-42.8 kg (depending on the level of protection), an operating temperature range between -30C° and +40C°, a permissible humidity of 100%, a protection area of 204.8-215 dm2, and an enhanced protection area of 30.1-68.75 dm2.

At Army-2016, Kalashnikov Group representative has presented its new prototype of tactical assault vest including body armour to Army Recognition online defense and security magazine, manufactured by a subdivision of Kalashnikov Group. This is a fully new design of modular body armour featuring new concept to increase comfort and protection for modern soldiers.

The new modular body armour of Kalashnikov offers the possibility to the soldiers to remove or added some components of its individual equipment according to the missions requirements in just few seconds.

The same modularity is adapted for the armour plates which can be fitted at the front and at the back of the tactical assault vest, but the protection of the soldiers can be increase thanks to the use of new armour components to protect the shoulders, neck or lower body of the fighters.

Another interesting new feature of the Kalashnikov body armour/assault vest is the possibility to remove the whole front panel with assault rifle magazines with another components to carried grenades or ammunitions for example.
