Two Syrian Pantsir air defense systems damaged in Turkish attacks

Turkey’s statements that its drones destroyed eight Syrian Pantsir-S1 (NATO code: SA-22 Greyhound) anti-aircraft missile/gun systems are not true, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Reports submitted to Turkey’s head about the combat effectiveness of the use of attack unmanned aerial vehicles in the Idlib province, which allegedly destroyed eight Syrian Pantsir anti-aircraft missile/gun systems, have nothing to do with reality and are nothing but an exaggeration," the ministry said.

Most of Syrian air defense systems, including the Pantsir complexes, are deployed near Damascus. Only four Pantsir systems provided coverage for Syrian forces near the Idlib de-escalation zone.

As a result of the mass attack by Turkish attack drones, two Syrian Pantsir anti-aircraft missile/gun systems were damaged. Work to repair them is nearing completion.
