Russia in talks with Saudi Arabia for the sale of T-90MS main battle tanks.
Russia is in talks with Saudi Arabia for the sle of T-90MS main battle tanks (MBT), Rostec Corp. Director General Sergei Chemezov has told the Rambler News Service during an interview. The T-90MS was presented for the first time at Russian Expo arms in September 2011. In September 2016, Russian Company UralVagonZavod has announced that the T-90MS was ready for production.

The Russian-made T-90MS MBT (Main Battle Tank) during trials in the desert in an undisclosed place in the Middle East.
     
"Saudi Arabia has seen many interest to acquire Russian main battle tanks. We are discussing the feasibility of exporting them to these countries. They are very keen. Let us see how the talks pan out," Chemezov said in an interview with the Russia 24 television channel.

He added that the Saudis have displayed interest in Russian small arms, field artillery, missile and helicopter systems as well.

Previously, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said that a lucrative deal had been struck with a Middle East country for the modified T-90MS in late 2016.

The T-90MS main battle tank is the modernized version of a T-90S main battle tank. The tank has a crew of three including driver, commander and gunner. The T-90MS is equipped with new firing control system with roof-mounted stabilised day/night thermal channels incorporating a laser rangefinder offering hunter killer capability.

In November 2016, the Indian authorities approved a deal with Russia on the purchase of 464 T-90MS tanks. India is also manufacturing T-90S tanks under license in India.
