Expal wins a $2.4m contract from US Army to develop new enhanced blast explosives
EXPAL USA has been awarded a $2.4 M contract for the development of pilot scale processes for the manufacture of new enhanced blast explosives for ARDEC (The U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center) at Picatinny Arsenal, the company said in a statement on March 11, 2016.

The work will take place at EXPAL’s Twin Screw Extruder facility in Minden, Louisiana and is expected to be completed by August 2018. The contract consist in the development of pilot scale processes for the manufacture of new enhanced blast explosives.

From its Dallas, TX headquarters EXPAL USA operates on 3 sites in the US. The Camp Minden site (the ex Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant), where this contract work will be performed. Another manufacturing facility located on a 120-acre site in Marshall Texas for Load, Assemble & Pack and pyrotechnic manufacturing and a third site located adjacent to the Red River Army Depot in Hooks Texas which will be dedicated to demilitarization, this “Texarkana” site will be operational in 2016.

"EXPAL USA team is able to offer to the US Armed Forces the vast experience that EXPAL has in these activities, as well as in the rest of products and services that it provides worldwide," the company said in a statement.
