MUSTmove mats are made of a double ply rubber coated fabrics reinforced with composite rods. This provides the mats with performances that exceeds metal or plastic mats. For example MUSTmove mats have 500 times the friction rate of metal mats and 200 times the friction rate of plastic mats.

Competitors' mats, lacking that coating, either get stuck in the ground (making it difficult to recover) or pickup a lot of dirt and debris on their plastic webbing, significantly increasing their weight after the operation. According to Musthane MUSTmove mats don't have these issues becuse the special coating on their mats allows for easy pickup and a simple rinse is enough to get rid of all debris and dirt. Musthane mats are also repairable through the use of a Repair Kit.
