Marshal Shaposhnikov:

Undergoing a significant overhaul, the Russian frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov has emerged as a modernized force multiplier within Russia's naval fleet. Originally an Udaloy-class destroyer, the ship has been refitted with advanced weaponry and technologies, enhancing its operational capabilities across a broad spectrum of naval warfare scenarios.

It now stands as a testament to Russia's commitment to reinforcing its maritime might, boasting an array of sophisticated offensive and defensive systems. These include the Kalibr-NK cruise missiles for long-range precision strikes, the Uran anti-ship missile system, and the Shtil-1 naval missile defense systems, alongside the capability to host two helicopters for enhanced aerial surveillance and anti-submarine warfare.

Federico Martinengo:

On the other side of the technological spectrum lies the Italian FREMM frigate Federico Martinengo, a marvel of the Franco-Italian FREMM program's ambition to deliver next-generation multi-mission frigates.

The vessel is a showcase of European naval prowess, designed with a keen eye on flexibility, advanced defense systems, and interoperability. Its armament suite is tailored for a wide range of operational requirements, featuring Aster 15 and Aster 30 missile systems for air defense, TESEO Mk2/A anti-ship missiles, and MU90 torpedoes for anti-submarine engagements.

Coupled with a 127mm main gun and remote weapon stations, the Federico Martinengo is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of modern naval warfare, boasting impressive speed and range capabilities that ensure rapid deployment and sustained presence across the globe.
