The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) is a biennial event held in Langkawi, Malaysia. It is the largest show of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region and brings together maritime and aerospace industries from around the world to showcase their latest technologies, products, and services.

The event features exhibitions, demonstrations, conferences, and forums, providing a platform for industry players to network, exchange ideas, and explore business opportunities. It also includes aerobatic displays, ship visits, and static displays of military and civilian aircraft, naval vessels, and other maritime and aerospace equipment.

The event typically attracts high-level government officials, military personnel, defense contractors, and industry professionals from around the world. The next LIMA exhibition is scheduled to be held from 23 to 27 May 2023.

After four years, the Official 16th Edition of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition, LIMA 2023 will be held again this May.

Among the organizations expected to be involved in this year’s exhibition include BHIC, Deftech, Gading Group, Global Turbine Asia, NADI, Radimax, Sapura, System Consulting Services and Zetro while several international industry players namely Airbus (UK), MBDA (France), Kongsberg (Norway), Naval Forces (France), Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), Australian Defense Forces, Aselsan, Roketsan and Havelsan (Turkey).

LIMA also brings amazing helicopter action only at the maritime segment in Langkawi. The air show is the most anticipated part of the event with the most outstanding air show from the air force all over the world, including our own stunts by the Royal Malaysian Air Force. The flying display is performed daily throughout the event, welcoming trade, delegates, and public visitors.

LIMA officially began in 1991 and became the very first maritime and aerospace exhibition event in the country with slightly over 100 exhibiting companies. The goal of LIMA is to make Langkawi a destination for light and experimental aircraft to fly freely, similar to the EAA Air Venture in the United States. LIMA has now expanded into maritime exhibitions and is one of Asia-Pacific’s largest maritime and air exhibitions.

Over 600 exhibitors from 30 countries, of which 60 percent, or 360, of the exhibitors, are from the defense industry, while the remaining 40 percent, or 240 exhibitors, will be from the commercial sector.

The latest edition of LIMA in 2019 was covered by over 1,500 journalists from around the world. Press Registration facilities have been made available online via the LIMA 2023 website.
