The Cuban
Defence Forces include the Revolutionary Armed Forces
(three armies Ester, Central, Western), Revolutionary
Navy, Revolutionary Air and Air Defense Force. The
total active manpower is around 185,000 personnel,
including 75,900 conscripts. The conscription is 3
years. There is also a paramilitary and auxiliary
force with Interior Special troops (15,000 personnel),
Border guards (4,000 personnel), Territorial army
(1,300,000 personnel) and Youth Labour Army (100,000).
The land forces of the Cuban armed Forces are composed
with around 145,000 soldiers, including 60,000 conscripts,
with the structure:
- Western Army with: 2 security regiments, 2 mechanised
infantry divisions, 4 infantry division
- Central army with: 3 security regiments, 2 armoured
division, 4 infantry divisions, 2 mechanised infantry
divisions
- Eastern army with: 3 security regiments, 2 armoured
divisions, 3 mechanised infantry divisions, 6 infantry
divisions
- 2 Special Forces battalions, 1 air assault brigade
(2 airborne, 1 airmobile battalions), 1 air defense
artillery regiment, 1 commando battalion, 1 Surface-to-Air
Missile brigade.
