The M110 self-propelled howitzer first entered service with the U.S. Army in 1963 and was used in the Vietnam War. Later versions were used in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm by T Battery, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines, and the British Army. In 1977, the upgraded M110A1 entered service, featuring a longer M201 series barrel which gave an increased range.

U.S. Naval Research Laboratory engineers launched PRAM, the Photovoltaic Radio-frequency Antenna Module, aboard an Air Force X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle on May 17 as part of a comprehensive investigation into prospective terrestrial use of solar energy captured in space. “To our knowledge, this experiment is the first test in orbit of hardware designed specifically for solar power satellites, which could play a revolutionary role in our energy future,” said Paul Jaffe, PRAM principal investigator.

According to a Tweet and picture released on Twitter by Nicholas Drummond, a British Defence industry consultant, and commentator, the Belgian company John Cockerill has shown a project that integrates its 105mm 3000 Series Weapon System on Boxer 8x8 armored vehicle during the International Armored Vehicle Conference that was held in London in January 2020.

U.S. soldier armor, such as bulletproof vests and helmets, depends upon high-performance ballistic fibers for its strength and effectiveness. Army researchers are experimenting with how they can improve armor by making it lighter and stronger. At the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command’s Army Research Laboratory, researchers examine high-performance fibers in an innovative soft armor research program.

On May 2, 2020, the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, accompanied by the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, visited members of the 3rd Missile Battalion of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade in the “Major Milan Tepić” Barracks in Jakovo. This unit is now equipped with Russian-made Pantsir self-propelled anti-aircraft gun and missile (SPAAGM) system.
