ShieldAfrica 2021: Delair from France showcases its UX11 fixed-wing mapping drone


At ShieldAfrica 2021, International Security and Defense Exhibition in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, the French company Delair showcases its full range of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) family including the UX11 a professional fixed-wing mapping drone.

The French company Delair is one of the international leaders in the development and manufacturing of drones for police, security, and military forces. Delair's offer ranges from deploying Delair UAV technology, executing technical studies, and developing drone systems and subsystems. Headquartered in Toulouse, France, Delair retains full control over the entire production chain to ensure product quality.

The UX11 developed and produced by Delair is a professional fixed-wing mapping drone capable of onboard data processing and with wireless and 3G/4G communications. It can scan areas of up to 500 acres at a 120-meter altitude.

The UX11 is available in two variants, the UX11 with RGB industrial camera and the UX11AG fitted with a multispectral camera. A multispectral image is one that captures image data within specific wavelength ranges across the electromagnetic spectrum. Spectral imaging can allow the extraction of additional information the human eye fails to capture with its visible receptors for red, green, and blue. This type of technology can be used for the identification and reconnaissance of military targets.

As a mapping drone specialist, the UX11 offers Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) and precise 3D rendering. Furthermore, it provides intuitive analytics and data reporting tools to offer optimal drone photogrammetry. This long-range UAV is also capable of onboard data processing.

The Delair UX11 is fitted with a global shutter camera which transmits in real-time to the Ground Control Station. The drone pilot can also adjust the camera settings in-flight. It can be easily launched by human hand and is BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line Of Sight) capable. It can be connected via 2.4 GHz or 3G/4G and includes built-in safety features such as deep stall soft landing to ensure it returns to the ground with minimal impact.

The UX11 has a flight endurance of up to 59 min. and has a total weight of 1.4 kg. It has a flight range of 53 km and can be deployed in less than five minutes. The drone can be controlled via a mobile application allowing the user to conduct mission planning and monitoring with the application.
