“The flight development tests of the Tsirkon missile from the Severodvinsk submarine will start in late August. They are planned to be completed before the freezing period starts in the White Sea. Several launches will be conducted,” the source said.

The Research and Production Association of Machine-Building (NPO Mashinostroeniya, part of the Tactical Missiles Corporation) that is the developer and the producer of the Tsirkon hypersonic missile declined to comment on the information provided by the source.

It is known that the flight development tests of the Tsirkon missile are being carried out from a surface carrier that is the Admiral Gorshkov frigate (Admiral Gorshkov-class). Launches against surface and ground targets have already been performed.
