Milrem Robotics completes trial in US Army AEWE Expeditionary Warrior Event.

Milrem Robotics, a leading developer of robotics and autonomous systems in Europe, has recently concluded its significant participation in the US Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE). Held in February at Fort Moore, USA, the AEWE aimed to test new technologies in environments that closely mimic actual operations.

Through a collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Defence and at the request of the Dutch Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) unit, Milrem Robotics had the opportunity to demonstrate the advanced capabilities of its weaponized THeMIS Combat Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV).

In preparation for and throughout the AEWE, Milrem Robotics worked closely with the RAS unit to fine-tune the operational strategies for integrating UGVs into combat groups.

The THeMIS UGVs, equipped with Milrem's Intelligent Functions Kits (MIFIK), participated in tests of autonomous capabilities across different terrains and conditions. "With the integration of smart functions and third-party payloads, including weapon systems, route clearance, and casualty evacuation modules, the THeMIS is now fully operational worldwide," Shepherd stated. He also highlighted the active role of the last two functionalities in supporting combat operations in Ukraine. "Our continuous engagement with Ukrainian partners fosters a robust exchange of feedback. This interaction accelerates the enhancement of our systems and enables the rapid testing and implementation of modifications in real combat situations.
