Lithuanian President Nausėda stated, "In January, we will once again provide Ukraine with ammunition, generators, and remote detonation systems. In February, we will dispatch M577 armored personnel carriers. Additionally, we are committed to training Ukrainian soldiers and enhancing our collaboration in the defense industry. The agreements inked today between Ukrainian and Lithuanian defense industries exemplify our robust military partnership."

Nausėda also highlighted the recent approval of a €200 million long-term military assistance package for Ukraine during a Lithuanian National Security Council meeting. Furthermore, Lithuania is actively working on establishing a "coalition for demining" to assist Ukraine in this endeavor, in coordination with other allied nations. He emphasized the imperative for the European defense industry to expedite its response to the challenging security situation.

In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed their agreement to jointly manufacture anti-drone weapons, addressing a pressing need at the contact line. In December 2023, Ukraine had already received field equipment, tens of thousands of dry rations, as well as several million rounds of ammunition and thousands of rounds for short-range portable anti-tank grenade launchers from Lithuania.
