To
ended the third day of the defense and security Middle east exhibition
SMES 2011, members of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) were
presented in a dynamic display their operational capabilities. |

The
Internal Security Forces – ISF or Forces de Sécurité
Intérieure (FSI) in French, are the national police and security
force of Lebanon. Modern police were established in Lebanon in 1861, with
creation of the Gendarmerie. SMES 2011 will uniquely showcase live demonstration of the Lebanese ISF which include also a SWAT team. Typically expected of a SWAT-type unit from any country will be the role of a tactical response team to handle hostage-rescue, high-risk warrants, VIP or dangerous criminal escort duties and sometimes counter-terrorism and anti-riot duties The live demonstration at SMES 2011 of the members of the Lebanese SWAT team, also named "Black panthers, show the ability of this team to response against anti-terrorism threats with high level of professionalism and efficiency. |
