Elbit Systems to present a full spectrum of advanced new- generation systems at LAAD 2011.
 
 

Elbit Systems and its Brazilian subsidiary Aeroeletronica S.A. (AEL) will feature an impressive lineup of new-generation systems at the upcoming Latin American Aerospace & Defense (LAAD) Exhibition 2011, set to take place from 12-15 April in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A broad range of innovative solutions will demonstrate the Company’s leadership in modern avionics suites, comprising computer interface and high definition smart displays, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Laser Guided Munitions, electro-optic payloads, high-speed digital data-links, remote controlled weapon stations for armored vehicles and more.

Elbit Systems has been active in the Brazilian market for a number of years and views Brazil as a key market for its full portfolio. This includes a wide variety of systems: Unmanned Turret systems for the Brazilian Army’s Land Forces as part of the Guarani Project; Hermes 450 UAS selected for the Brazilian Air Force; aviation applications and platforms; a variety of upgrade programs of existing military platforms; development of new technologies for defense as well as homeland security.

Live Multimedia demonstrating Border Protection Solutions:
Reconnaissance and C4I systems over networked communications capabilities, enabled to send voice, data and especially video from every sensor, overcoming extremely long distances across all levels of the command. This significant contribution is crucial to mission success. This new live multimedia presentation depicts how the various sensors, basing on the TORCH system and the communications infrastructure, create and deliver the entire intelligence picture, thus enabling full command and control capabilities to all echelons, without limitations of distances.

Land and C4I Systems:
Elbit Systems Land & C4I-Tadiran, backed by four decades of across-the-board battle-proven expertise and experience, will showcase the following: Dominator® Integrated Infantry Combat System (IICS) provides infantry units with a real-time situational awareness picture (hostile and own forces) on personal displays as well as live video from external or on-body sensors and enabling transmission of images and positions back to command units.
Unique demonstration of tactical communication solutions for multimedia dissemination: A diverse demonstration of tactical radio networks wideband and narrowband, IP and non-IP systems offering seamless solutions of voice, data and video connectivity. The following systems will take part in the demonstration: SDR-7200HH, a new hand-held software-defined radio configuration, SDR-7200 , ELSAT-2000 on-the move satellite communication system, Military IP Radio (MIPR), PNR-500, CNR-9000HDR and THF-8000.

Armored Fighting Vehicle Upgrade Systems:
Elbit Systems Land & C4I-Tadiran, a supplier of more than 7,000 systems and sub-systems for new Main Battle Tanks, Light Armored Vehicles and upgrade programs worldwide, will showcase: 4X4 Tactical Armored Patrol Vehicle equipped with a full protection and detection suit, including the following latest generation systems: Remote Weapon Station (RWS), Weapon Integrated Battle Management System, Enhanced Tactical Computer, Reconnaissance Mast-mounted Stabilized Observation System, Digital Crew Intercom, VHF\UHF Radio, Laser Warning System, See-through-Armor (LSAS) and additional features.

LILY-S is a compact Short-range Thermal Weapon Sight (STWS)
LIZ - Advanced multi-sensor day/night electro-optic sight for remote observation and surveillance operations, security and perimeter defense, suitable for a stationary and/or mobile weapon sight.
Atlas LT with CORAL – offers a full-solution, fully integrated and flexible target acquisition system for the digital battlefield – accurate, carried in a backpack, fully operational in minutes and with a sensor payload easily configured to suit missions.

Avionic Products and Systems
Elbit Systems, with its comprehensive airborne systems capabilities, can provide a single sensor or an entire cockpit avionic suite. The following will be displayed in the Company’s booth:
C-95 Cockpit Upgrade - includes integration of advanced avionics such as digital maps, displays, advanced communication and navigation systems and additional advanced systems, aimed at improving the aircraft's performance and the pilot's survivability.

Unmanned Systems:
Elbit Systems’ Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) have earned international recognition and play increasingly vital roles in the global war on terrorism. The Company's UAS are the backbone of the Israel Defense Forces and other world leading armed forces.
Hermes® 90 in real size - this long endurance UAS offers 18 hours mission range of up to 100 kilometers, featuring high survivability, various payload capabilities and dual launch/recovery. Ideal for maneuvering and maritime forces, Hermes® 90 uses its heavy fuel engine configuration, enabling refueling, launch and recovery on naval platforms and ships.
The following will be presented in 1:10 scale: Hermes® 900 Tactical MALE UAS and Hermes® 450 Tactical Long Endurance UAS, Skylark® I-LE (Long Endurance) and Skylark® II.

Advanced Payload Systems:
Elbit Systems Electro-optics Elop, a globally recognized world leader in electro-optic systems, will showcase:
CoMPASS™ (Compact Multi Purpose Advanced Stabilized System) a highly stabilized, multi-sensor electro-optical payload system, adaptable to ground vehicles, airborne (both fixed and rotary-wing aircraft) and marine combat vessels.
DCoMPASS™ combines the most advanced digital electronics and networking technologies, offering exceptionally high resolution digital imagery, precise target location using on gimbal IMU, advanced tracking & image processing algorithms, all packed in the lightest single LRU, stabilized payload in its class.

Armored Fighting Vehicle Upgrade Systems:
In January 2011 Elbit Systems' Brazilian subsidiary, AEL, was awarded a framework contract, valued at up to 440 million Brazilian Reals (approx. $260 million) for the supply of UT30 BR 30 mm Unmanned Turrets to the Brazilian Army’s Land Forces, as part of the Guarani Project. Elbit Systems UT 30mm is developed, designed and produced for armor protection according to NATO standards and can be fully equipped up to STANAG 4569 L4 protection, covering all turret components and systems including ammunition, gunner's sights, commander panoramic sights, all electronics and more.

Radar Solutions – the Portable Ground Surveillance Radar System is designed to provide surveillance at medium to long ranges. The radar identifies both human and vehicular threats, providing protection for sensitive facilities, airports, or along borders.

Self-Protection Suite for Helicopters and Transport Aircraft is a first-of-its-kind complete suite that includes comprehensive, advanced, passive and active EW capabilities. The lightweight, modular suite integrates and fully optimizes, with total interoperability with existing onboard systems.

Self-Protection Suite for VIP Aircraft consists of PAWS - IR Passive Approach Warning, Chaff/Flare Dispensers, and Laser DIRCM.

IR-CENTRIC™ - the only operational system of its kind, this a measurable self-protection force multiplier for fixed and rotary wing aircraft is a proven comprehensive solution that shortens sensor-to-weapon loops and enhances survivability of crews and platforms.

Aqua Marine – an integrated ESM/ECM suite for naval applications, is a combat-proven, integrated and modular, delivering situation awareness, electronic attack, ship self-defense and electronic intelligence.

Elisra's RWR & LWS Suites for Small Patrol Boats handles threats from all offshore, short range Radar and Laser guided missiles. The small, lightweight, modular systems provide both audio and visual alarms and are equipped with threats library, with laser add-ons available.

Ground EW/Intelligence Solutions - sophisticated COMINT, COMJAM and ELINT solutions operate in the densest electromagnetic environments, delivering fast and accurate detection and interception.

Homeland Security Solutions:
At the show, Elbit Systems will present a live demonstration of a city/state operations room dealing with various crisis management scenarios such as an oil tanker explosion in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, an intruder trying to enter a strategic Oil & Gas facility, large scale sport events security management, natural disasters, crime fighting and more. The events will be managed in several phases, from detection to surveillance, analysis, management and finally response. The operations room will simulate a number of Elbit Systems' products and systems. The following will participate in the scenario:
Rotundus command and control management system for security applications, emergencies and first responders.
HLS2 a unique simulation system for planning and training of security events management.
