BAE Systems first introduced its lightweight SD-ROW turret at Africa Aerospace and Defense, a trade show held in Cape Town, South Africa in September of last year. Since then, the turret, which is equipped with a small calibre weapon for use on a variety of lighter attack vehicles and Mine Protected Vehicles (MPV), has been garnering interest from customers who are in need of an effective, yet economical first-order defence solution for a myriad of operational vehicles.

While BAE Systems’ armour-protected commercial vehicles provide occupants with extra security and peace of mind, they must also be inconspicuous and appear just like original equipment manufacturer vehicles. It’s a painstaking process that begins with the vehicle being completely dissembled first, before it is rebuilt and reinforced with life-saving armour components.
