In modern conflicts, MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles are essential due to their specific design aimed at protecting occupants from landmines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and ambushes. These threats pose a major risk in asymmetric warfare and counter-insurgency operations. MRAPs, with their reinforced armor and V-shaped design to deflect explosions under the vehicle, offer improved survival for soldiers in the field.

The MRAP Buffalo D10 is designed for both civilian and military applications. This vehicle stands out with its armor being at the BR7+ STANAG II level. It is equipped with an open rotating turret capable of mounting a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun or a 12.7x108 mm DShK machine gun.

This vehicle is powered by a 6.7-liter Cummins Diesel engine, coupled with an Allison Twin Turbo Diesel transmission system, delivering 480 horsepower. The vehicle's payload capacity is 1300 kg, and it can support a gross weight of 8 tons. It offers seating for ten individuals (4+6 configuration) and provides a range of colors for customization.

The vehicle's armor is a significant aspect, featuring high-quality armored steel and advanced BR7+ STANAG II protection. It includes engine compartment protection, a military dashboard with a control unit, and several escape hatches. The vehicle is also equipped with a rear-view camera, two front cameras, an interior camera with a 10-inch LCD screen, and an electric winch capable of handling 12,000 pounds.

The glass used in the vehicle is 77.9 mm armored, including the windshield, front, and rear doors, offering enhanced protection. Safety glass grills are also installed for added security. The vehicle is equipped with headlights, front and rear LED flashing lights, and a strobe light, ensuring visibility and communication in various operational environments.

For additional safety and functionality, the MRAP Buffalo D10 includes a public address system, a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, an upgraded battery, anti-blast seats with seatbelts, radiator protection, and side boxes for ammunition and tools. The vehicle's run-flat system ensures mobility even in challenging situations, and it comes with a spare tire.

The presentation of the MRAP Buffalo D10 is quite interesting, providing many technical details and additional information. However, it remains to be seen what reception the market will have for this new vehicle.Army Recognition is still sceptical about this new model, and we have our doubts about its off-road capability because of its low angle of attack and fairly limited ground clearance, particularly because of its running boards.
