Azerbaijan does not abandon the idea of producing the assault rifle AK-74 under license. | |||
“Azerbaijan
doesn’t intend to abandon the usage of AK-74 automatic submachine
gun and plans to produce “Kalashnikov” by the end of the year,”
said Minister of Defense Industry Yaver Jamalov while commenting the reports
refusal of Azerbaijan from Kalashnikov submachine guns in favor of “Tavor”. |

Tavor is an Israeli-made bullpup assault rifle chambered for 5.56×45mm
NATO ammunition with a selective fire system, selecting between semi-automatic
mode and full automatic fire mode. |
