“The guidance and indication system of the helmet is undergoing trials. It is integrated into the protective helmet of Su-57 pilot and displays target marks on the face shield for engagement of various weapons, as well as piloting information and images of outside space transmitted by television and heat sensors,” it said.

The pilot can thus see the space outside the cockpit at night and in bad weather and during complicated maneuvers. He can actually see through his own jet.

The Russian Aerospace Forces have to receive 22 Su-57 by the end of 2024. The aircraft plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has to produce 76 Su-57 by 2028.
